One tiny thing from tonight's The Office made me gleeful. The Finer Things Club was reading E.M. Forster! I was such a huge Forster geek back in high school; for several months I obsessively read and re-read Howards End, still one of my favorite novels.
Tonight's Ugly Betty made me frustrated, though. I used to really like Henry, and his relationship with Betty was darling back in S1. But now? NO. Girl, this will NOT end well, and you know it. I don't care if it is Destined True Love. Stop going back to him and make a clean break, because you know full well that he'll be back in Arizona soon. With nearly any other young woman in her position, I'd chalk her bad decisions up to youth and being blinded by emotions. But I can't do that with Betty because she's always been such a sensible type who clearly rejected this sort of thing. I'm still neutral about Gio as a new suitor, but until something happens there (and of course it will) I just want Betty to wise up and get the hell out before she's hurt even worse.
At least Marc and Cliff are darling.
Also, when they went to the musical, my first thought was, "I'll bet this episode is titled 'Wicked Game'." Nope, it was "Something Wicked This Way Comes". Either way, it's groan-worthy.
Despite the negativity here, the show's still a delight on most counts!
I've gotten a giddy thrill out of this week's hoopla over this amazing football play by my alma mater, Trinity University. Aww! Even the NY Times jumped in by interviewing the sophomore English major (hey, I was one of those!) who announced the game.
NBC.com has a contest in which you can make your own video to "Werewolf Bar Mitzvah", and the clip has the full version. Not quite as funny as the six seconds from the 30 Rock episode, but still worth a few giggles.
EntWkly will be interviewing George R. R. Martin, and they're inviting readers to submit questions for him.
A WSJ columnist is not impressed by his daughter's homecoming date. Specifically, she bought a dress and got all gussied up, yet he decided they should skip the dance and go hang out. Dad's a heel for embarrassing his daughter in a national newspaper, but he does have a few good points.

Damn. I'd hoped the insomnia would help me work on the fic, but I'm just as stumped as ever. Grr!
