The garishly-decorated carpet.

I'm going to try the live-blogging thing during the awards, but the fashion picspam is already so huge that I'm just going to put the show-related stuff in a separate post. And for some gorgeous hi-res pics, check out txvoodoo's gallery.

First up, a red carpet picspam. NOT dial-up friendly.

While I've barely scrolled through WireImage, I can already tell poor Miss Hayden Panettiere will win the OMGWTF? Award for Most Unflattering Dress. Her makeup looks great. She could've been the most stunning woman on the carpet. But the dress? Yikes.

Eva Longoria's dress looked awful in the thumbnail, so I clicked on it expecting horrors. Turns out it's really quite cute.

Yay for Ellen and Portia showing up together! Yeah, everyone knows about them, but I still like that they're public now.

Ditto for Neil Patrick Harris. :)

Rebecca Romijn is one of the few women alive who could pull off this dress.

And Minnie Driver is one of the few women alive who can rock the yellow. Very flattering dress on her curvy figure.

Kate Walsh = WOW.

I didn't even recognize Michael Urie in the thumbnail. He's looking very, very good.

I really like Judith Light's hair. Very '80s cut, but it suits her.

Jenna Fischer is always saying that Angela Kinsey is gorgeous in RL. Since I don't follow The Office fandom, I had no idea what she looked like out-of-character. LOVE her here.

LANDRY!

This is the perfect dress for Glenn Close. Unfortunately, it also looks like the perfect dress for Patricia Arquette. Oops. I've only seen the tops; hopefully the rest is different.

I hope the problem here is the pose. Otherwise, Mindy Kaling chose a dress that makes her hips look huge. Too bad, because she's got a great figure.

Yay, Tina! I want to be her when I grow up.

Go Stephen! Kick Tony Bennet's ass!

I have no idea who Phoebe Price is, but I didn't want to see this much of her.

I hate the disco/grecian mash-up (I just hate '70s and '80s fashion in general), but Lisa Edelstein looks gorgeous in the red.

Love Rashida Jones's flapper 'do.

Jenna Fischer said on her MySpace that she was trying something "controversial" this year. I'm not seeing the risk here. It's different from her usual, but it's still fairly nice. If anything, it makes her look a wee bit matronly.

Oh, dear. Marcia Cross's ears are leaking. That can't be good.

Oh, John. What happened? (I'm less enamored of him than most of my flist, but even objectively-speaking, he's not looking good in that photo.)

Well, huh. I expected to post lots of "What the hell is she wearing?!?", but most everyone looks nice 'n classy. Well-played, folks. Even if it's not very entertaining. *sigh*
