Five for Wednesday.

1. I went to the dermatologist today to get my itchy scalp problems sorted out. He said that the skin appeared healthy, but he gave me a prescription to deal with the dryness and sensitivity. I've also been using Neutogena T/Gel shampoo, which seems to be working aside from how it makes my hair smell like charcoal. Thanks for all the suggestions the other day!

2. A bronze by Alberto Giacometti sold at auction today for $104.3 million. Wow. It's a gorgeous piece, and I can see why people would covet it. But I'm obviously illiterate in art, because I'm not sure I see that kind of coveting.

3. Here's a neat blog post by Fahim Anwar, who was the guest star in Monday's episode of Chuck. Turns out he's an aerospace engineer by day, stand-up comedian by night. Huh, cool! Interesting stuff there about the process of filming an episode. And on a similar note, Ken Levine de-glamourizes the casting process for TV pilots. So much luck involved! I'm not nearly strong enough to handle that kind of rejection -- and I would definitely be rejected over and over. ;)

4. Today is the anniversary of "the day the music died": when the plane carrying Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper crashed. I remember really liking their music when I was a little kid. That post has some video of the musicians.

5. In fandom news, leda13 has a new chapter of her old WIP, "Eris and Aurora! She says she hopes to post the final chapter soon. Yay! So glad to see her writing again. :)
