Notes: A self challenge using dictionary.com's Word of the Day as prompts for very, very short one-shots.
jocular: given to or characterized by joking.
With his bright smiles and joking nature, it was hard for most to take Shindong
seriously for longer than 5 minutes. But Donghae would wait for the day when the
older boy would lose the jocular act for longer and let him in.
arriviste: a person who has recently attained success, wealth, or high status but not general acceptance or respect.
It had always been hard for Eunhyuk to read any anti messages; here he was,
trying his hardest to be an entertainer and yet he never could gain that level
of acceptance he strove for and the harsh words of those messages cut him deeper
than he would let on.
errant: deviating from an appointed course, or from a direct path.
It was seemingly a normal busy day, but when Siwon grabbed his hand and pulled
him into the closest unoccupied room (a cliché maintenance room, he realized later) and
kissed all rational thought away, Kangin knew he would remember it as anything but.
tenet: any opinion, principle, or doctrine held to be true.
Heechul liked the way he thought and acted. He had a steady set of beliefs on
how he liked to live and damned if anyone went against his personal tenets. That was
why Hankyung found himself pressed up against a wall, hot mouth searching his own
before he knew what had hit him; what Heechul wants, Heechul acts on.
deign: to condescend to give or bestow; to stoop to furnish; to grant.
As the youngest, it wasn’t his place to be speaking out at the actions of his elder
members, especially as Sungmin’s soft, wet mouth began a trail down his chest while
fingers nimbly began removing his jeans; he could hardly vocalize anything other
than breathy gasps, half formed words to the current affection the older boy had
deign to give.
clarion: a kind of trumpet; loud and clear.
After years of not-so-accidental brushed, platonic hugs, quick brushes of lips
on cheeks, it was becoming difficult for Yesung to tell what the true nature was of
their relationship. All it took was Ryeowook pushing him down onto his bed,
straddling his hips, and making short work of both their clothing for it to become
crystal clear where exactly their relationship stood.
toper: a drunkard; a sot.
“You’re drunk!” The excuse sounds weak to both boys, a failing last stand. Hot
lips were leaving a shining trail of saliva, nipping and lapping at any exposed skin
they could find. Kibum tried to pull away, but insistent hand suddenly forced his
jeans to his already weakened knees while he could feel the older male’s lewd smile
against his stomach, and he couldn’t decided whither he should never let Eeteuk drink
again or get him drunk more often.
obviate: to anticipate and dispose of or make unnecessary.
He watched as Hankyung’s hand slid down the slim boy’s hip and up his shirt,
while Heechul’s fervent whispering was flushing the Chinese boy’s delicate throat.
It was when the two finally touched lips that Eunhyuk felt his heart oddly obviated from
abecedarian: rudimentary; a beginner.
Words of encouragement are half-whispered and soft breaths brush his skin like
gossamer breezes as the two exerted effort to go soft and slow; Kyuhyun was the
youngest, just a beginner, and by default needed to be taught, but Yesung and
Ryeowook proved to be very patient teachers.
rivulet: a small stream or brook.
He was trapped on all sides: Heechul on one side and Shindong on the other,
while the wall of his bedroom was pressed firmly to his back. A shiver of anticipation
and a small rivulet of sweat ran down Sungmin spine in time with the redhead licking
his lips and the brunette’s fingers began to remove his shirt.
putsch: an attempt to overthrow a government.
“I’m the leader! This is a revolt! It’s mutiny! I won’t stand for this putsch!”
but before the leader could give any other synonyms, the weight of Yesung on his
legs, Kibum straddling his upper body, and Kangin’s lips stole his breath away.
brio: vigor; vivacity.
He watched as the two older boys danced and laughed, glowing with such life
and brio it was almost blinding; Siwon could only hope to find the same feeling
that Donghae and Eunhyuk had found in each other.
accede: to agree or assent.
While his head kept a stead mantra of we shouldn’t, we’ll be caught, we
shouldn’t Eeteuk’s body couldn’t help but arch and accede to the hard thrusts,
despite both Kangin and his knowledge that just outside of the room, the rest of the
group was on break from the photo-shoot.
cavort: to bound or prance about.
They suppressed their giggled that mingled in with their capriciously placed steps
and kisses, they felt like they were twelve, cavorting around trying to avoid their
parents; Sungmin gave a rather loud squeak when Kyuhyun half tripped over a shoe,
shoving the older boy on his bed before dissolving into muffled, happy laughter.
efficacious: producing, or capable of producing, a desired effect.
Kibum couldn’t hid his self-satisfied grin as the older boy writhed and gasped
under his ministrations; he knew exactly how to kiss and touch or use his breath
and words to coax out the efficacious actions from Siwon’s all too willing body.
bedaub: to besmear; also, to overdecorate.
At the end of long days, it was such a relief for to wash out the copious amounts
of styling product out of his hair and scrub the layers of makeup from his face; his
bedaub persona was a far cry from the real man, and it was always so good to remove
that other person and remember the real Kim Heechul reflected in the mirror.
trice: an instant; a moment.
In the split second it took, everything had changed; despite the petite boys
cries, Donghae wouldn’t be able to forget the image of Ryeowook lips on Hankyung’s.
impugn: to call in question; to make insinuations against.
He had come in later than usual from his radio program for the forth night in
a row; despite the burning urge to throw Eeteuk against the wall of their room and
impugn his fidelity, demanding the knowledge of who’s ass he would have to kick,
Kangin could only lift the covers and let the older boy crawl into his arms and try
to hold back his jealous thoughts.
apostasy: desertion or departure from one's faith, principles, or party.
He had vowed to himself that he wouldn’t give up his promise of faithfulness
towards Eunhyuk; but with the way Heechul was moaning and moving with such wanton
abandon, Donghae could see his apostasy as slightly more justified.
Ryeowook was the quiet one, all silent and sweet among the more outspoken elders;
but it was Shindong who found out that with a little bit of work, the younger member
could prove to be quite prolix under the proper type of stimulation.
gregarious: seeking and enjoying the company of others.
Perhaps it was his personality that drew others close to him, his natural flair
and candid tendencies were well known; But as he felt Kibum’s lips near his stomach,
Hankyung’s hard chest behind his back, and Siwon’s hands threaded in his hair,
Heechul could hardly be bothered to think about his gregarious nature.
circumspect: cautious; prudent.
Perhaps he was being overly cautious in double checking the locks (despite Kangin’s
teeth grazing the back of his neck and urgent growling to hurry the fuck up)
but after that one time that Shindong had walked in half-way through a rather vigorous
session in one of Kangin’s more inventive positions, Eeteuk decided they ought
to be more circumspect.
