Eeteuk prides himself with his unwavering composure;
years of being in the business, being on top in the
business demands that of you, and Eeteuk's ranking and
skills displayed this ten fold over.
Sungmin stops Eeteuk one morning, face soft and curious,
and asks if he’d done something wrong.
“I haven’t seen Kangin lately, I thought you might have been
sending him to someone else.” The image of long lashes
framing warm eyes just before they close rises to his mind,
lips pressing rough and hesitant on his own, warm hands
clutching his arms; the feeling of Kangin trying to convey that
he was someone instead of something, the apology, the necklace
he can’t seem to bring himself to take of- Eeteuk’s no fool, he
can see that sharpness in those eyes as Sungmin quickly scan for
any cracks in his composure, any physical sign to give him away.
The boy seems to forget exactly with whom he’s dealing with.
Eeteuk tilts his head just so, lets his lips soften into a confused
smile just so, (memory of his conversation with Heechul far too
fresh in his mind, and he has sworn never to let his guard down)
“He hasn’t been in since your last time.” his voice is smooth, sliding
carefully over words with a practiced ease that only comes from
being trained in telling people what the want to hear, tone casual
and disinterested. The sides of Sungmins mouth harden and Eeteuk
notes that was the only visible reaction the boy gives before they
quirk into a sickly sweet smile, complacent for now, and the boy
walks back to his room.
Eeteuk finds himself letting go of a breath he wasn’t quite sure why
he had been holding.
