I've only written one such story, The Long Road Home, although Tangled Alliances does focus on a possible Sam/Daniel relationship. Still, the majority of my stories revolve around Jack, so I was surprised when I received a comment on my latest WIP fic, Tears of a Warrior asking if there was going to be a Sam/Daniel pairing, especially since I didn't mention that pairing. Now I know better than to try to sneak in a pairing without giving people notice, and in fact made sure to mention in a warning notice that this was a Jack/Other pairing. So with all my cards laid out on the table (so to speak), I was surprised that this person would think I would try to sneak in something.
Anyway, I replied to the comment, telling the person that there will not be a Sam/Daniel pairing (or references thereof), while at the same time, mentioning that I really like that pairing and I think they make a great couple. I did this in a nice way, and the reader responded back in a nice manner, as well. No hard feelings on either side. But what I think has inducted me into "The Club" is what the reader told me in his/her response, and I quote, "that's fantastic news, cause that pairing just makes me shudder and I personally don't think they make a good couple. They're too much sibling-like for me to ever like it or not shudder at the thought of it. But, as long as someone isn't trying to force it upon me, I ignore it."
"Too much sibling-like". :D
Does this qualify me for membership or what??
