This Year's Pesach Song

We have two songs we finished off from previous cutting room floors, and two songs that we are still working on this year. You can vote for your favourites!

The unfinished:

To the Tune of 'Belle' From Beauty and the Beast
Mitzrayim
It's a growing nation
Every day
Doing things I abhor
Mitzrayim
Filled with enslaved people
Waking up to say:

No More!
No More!
No more! No more! No more!

There goes taskmaster with his whip like always
The same old cuts and welts to swell
Every morning just the same
Since this new Pharoah he came
To this land of plenty
And made it into Hell!

...
(eventually to)
There must be more than this Egyptian life!

EDIT: I think I wrote the missing verse... still needs some cleaning up though.

To the tune of 'Like a Prayer' by the Gashmius Girl
Life here is misery, everybody feels alone
God hears us call His name
To bring us … home

[Chorus:]

When you call God's name and say a little prayer
Begging Hashem please, take us out of here
Around the midnight hour they will feel His power
Just like God said, we know He'll take us there

I hear their screams, it's not an angel smiting
Like my dreams, I hear their screams
Egyptians dying
I mark my door, thank God we'll soon be leaving
Death is here, but I've marked door
Heaven help me

[chorus]

Ashira La'shem, the sea it splits before me
You're in control, Ashira La'shem
Now I'm dancing
Now we're free, their end is our beginning
We crossed the sea, and now we're free
Let the girls sing

[chorus]

Life here is misery, everybody feels alone
God hears us call His name
To bring us …
home

You heard our prayer, Moshe will lead us there
You heard our cries, Hashem you empathise
Just like a dream, You made Egyptians scream
Just like a prayer, not vague Your plague got us out of here

Just like our prayer, He'll take us there
It's like a dream to me

And from last year:

The Pesach Collection (The Rainbow Connection)
Why are there so many
Songs about Pesach
Sung at our Seder each year
Songs about freedom
Or songs about cleaning
Or why we can't have our beer
We've been told to shut up, and some choose to heed it
But I know they're wrong wait and see

Someday we'll make it
The Pesach Collection
Composed and performed by me.

Who said that every tune
Would be filked and butchered
While hung over from Purim Seuda
Somebody started it
and someone continued
and now we must meet our quota
What's so compelling
That keeps us from telling
Our opinions too honestly

Someday we'll make it
The Pesach Collection
Composed and performed by me.

All of us stuck in this hell
Oh isn't our singing so tragic?

Are you now half asleep
Haven't you heard voices?
I've heard them yelling my name
I wish they were sweet sounds
you heard at our seders
But this is getting so lame
I've written too many songs, I'm bored of it
But it's something they expect of me

Someday we'll make it
The Pesach Collection
Composed and performed by me.

And finally:

To 'The War of 1812' by Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie
Oh come back, o' proud seder guests
To before we were set free,
No shmaltz herring for kiddush,
Phil never published a TT (Oh my God!)
In 1312 (BCE) Pharaoh was mad,
He was the … Pharaoh, you know
Well he thought he'd get a workforce without any quid pro quo
He thought he enslave the Jews
He thought that he was tough
Instead when we left Egypt's land…
We left with all their stuff.

And the bush it burned burned burned
And God spoke from within it
It burned burned burned
While the chartumim ran and cried
It burned burned burned
And things were metaphorical
And the Egyptian ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
Waa Waa Waa
And drowned in the red Sea

Now some chariots from Egypt
By Pharaoh they were led
Chased us to the Red Sea
But they returned home dead
It's the only war the Egyptians lost, except for '48
And also the 6 day war… and Yom Kippur… gate
The loser was Pharaoh
The winner was Israel
So join right in and talk about the night that Egypt fell

And the bush it burned burned burned
And God spoke from within it
It burned burned burned
While the chartumim ran and cried
It burned burned burned
And things were metaphorical
And the Egyptian ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
Waa Waa Waa
And drowned in the red Sea

In 2332, we were just sittin' around
Exiled to Goshen, 'cause crops wouldn't grow in the ground
Then Pharaoh put us into bondage, wouldn't let us to our mound
So many years later Moshe camed and burned it to the ground

Oh…. We brought blood and frogs, but Pharoah wouldn't give up
His people weren't as happy as they were a while ago
We brought more plagues and they all started running
Down the Nile River to the Gulf of Mexico, oh oh…
They ran through the locust, and they ran through the boils
They ran through the bushes where the beavers wouldn’t go.
We left so fast we forgot to let our bread rise
Though midrashim say that it wasn't really so

So when you celebrate Pesach at our seder clean and nice
Don't you wish we'd listen to Machon Shilo and eat a bowl of rice

And the bush it burned burned burned
It's a miracle now admit it
It burned burned burned
Now Joshua come inside
It burned burned burned
And things were metaphorical
And the Egyptian ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
Waa Waa Waa
And drowned in the red Sea

The lyrics you've given to Belle are extremely awkward. The accents are all in the wrong places, even without that it still doesn't sound right ("Since this new Pharaoh he came"? Seriously?), and it's not very clever. I suggest you abandon it.

The other songs you're spoofing I'm not familiar with.
