Is an education at GW worth it?

Complete with commentary by Kevan "Wallace" Duve.

"The unofficial position on GW philanthropy is a bit more jaded. “A lot of people say GW just doesn’t engender this feeling of giving back,” says Hatchet editor Sherman. “What I’ve heard is that people just feel like they come out of this school and they’re drained of everything they have.”

Answers to question:
1. Brianna+Laura-Eve+EmHen+Claire+V+Jonathan+Carly+Corrie+BenJohnson+Daphne+Jen+Alana+Jenny+Margo+Jeff+Trevor+Jess+Spencer+AD+our friend Peter.
2. Cherries. Definitely.
3. Chilling the fuck out. Growing up some. Teaching po-eh-tree to my chilluns.
4. Le Tigre - Deceptacon
5. Probably my Penguin Best Contemporary American Poetry or my Norton Anthology of Modern and Contemporary Poetry because I used them every day for six weeks. Pilgrim at Tinker Creek for a plethora of other reasons--but that's my all-the-time book.
6. I got this here fancy pants computer and a video iPod. Also I got the most kickass red 80s party dress.
7. Camp camp camp. Best six weeks I could ask for. I feel like I should say somethng about my boo-friend here. Like the day that I came to visit and he was moving and had meant to surprise me but instead was just all sweaty. That was life changing.
8. So far, no where out of state. Actually not further than two hours away or for more than a night.
9. Beachcation with rebeccizzle+l-yee. C-villin on Friday.
10. Teaching with Sarah was annoying. At times teaching with Bart was hard, but that was a labor of love. Car accidents sucked. Being broke as a joke at the end of it really blows. Oh--it being over. That's the worst fucking part.

My iPod died last week. I held it in my hands as it whirred its last mechanical rotations. In any case, my mother assured me that it was okay for me to use this as an excuse to buy a new computer and get a semi-free ipod with it. So that's what I'm doing. nerd nerd nerd.

Drew keeps asking me if I'll be sad when camp is done. I say no. He seems puzzled because it's pretty clear I love it here, that it's important to me (or at least as important as a six week summer writing workshop for high schoolers can be), and that I care a lot about the people that I'm with here. But I think my dear dear Laura Eve said it best when she suggested that part of what she's trying to teach is how to take the workshop experience home with you--for her it's about taking the practical writing skills home, but I think I've learned so much in six weeks ( I wasn't able to learn in six months out of school or 21 year of being alive) that I can bring back out of the Tuttle compression tank. So, I won't be sad, I don't think. I'll miss talking about poetry every day and being given free range to spout (pseudo) wisdom about the things I like to read.

School starts in September! I have to go back to that place! I'm living in Mitchell! Who does that?!
