First, the other stuff. Yay for Theo winning Canadian Idol!!!!!! I watched it over at R's and we mocked and squee'd and celebrated. And then we bought tickets to the Top3 show in Hamilton complete with a Meet & Greet!! *squee*

Plowing through Veronica Mars and halfway through S3. I'm amused by all the familiar faces that pop up as guest stars -- Lucas Grabeel (Ryan, HSM), Micheal Cera, Alia Shawkat, Logan of Gilmore Girls, even an ex-MuchMusic VJ! But what was up with the S2 season finale?!?!! I've also come to the conclusion that Jason Dohring was playing essentially the same character on VM & Moonlight. Wallace and Mac pretty much rule.

**break in Olympics talk**

Finished VM S1 and the first ep of S2 (c'mon, I had to see who was at the door!)  Wow, I did not see the Aaron-Lilly connection coming.  And, may I just say, EWWWWW.  Poor Logan.  Girlfriend is killed.  Mommy jumps off a bridge.  Sister gets beaten by bf.  Daddy beats Logan AND had affair with his gf.  Current gf -- Veronica -- dumps him and hooks up with best friend.  Oh yea, beaten up by Weevil's gang and, probably, framed for murder (which he wasn't tried for due to lack of evidence but now half the town hates him).  Dude needs a break.

**back to Olympics**

Looking forward to watching the men's diving tonight and this is really just an excuse to post pretty pretty pictures of Alexandre Despatie.  Personally, I don't think he'll medal -- he's 9th going into the semis -- but I will enjoy watching him, and the other divers, go for the gold.

* Have not finished un-packing.  I am so unmotivated right now.  

* Have booked my tickets to Orlando for EyeCon!!  Flying in Saturday afternoon and leaving Monday afternoon.  Wanted to come in Friday night but WestJet only offers afternoon flights and it had an awesome seat sale so compromises had to be made.  Bummed that I'll be missing Jim Beaver and Chad Lindberg but Jared is scheduled for Sunday and that's all that really counts.  =)

* Have watched the first half of Veronica Mars S1 and I'm enjoying it.  Not at the point of OMG BEST SHOW EVAH but liking it.  I thought Kristen Bell sucked on Heroes but she is really good as Veronica.  Still think she's overhyped though.  Love Wallace and Papa Mars.  Paris Hilton in the second episode made me gag.  Hey, it's Mac from General Hospital!  Sorry, but I can't see Veronica and Lilly being BFFs.  Lilly is annoying.  And Logan.  Poor misunderstood, bad boy Logan who gets beaten by his movie star daddy.  He gets the best lines and his "bonding" with Weevil was amusing.

* Have not been really watching the Olympics.  Every time I flip over to NBC/CBC, it's on a sport I'm not really interested in.  I seem to be missing all the good stuff  =(  Unpopular Olympics Opinion #1:  While I'm all on-board with Phelps winning the 8 gold, it makes the whole thing boring.  Oh look, Phelps is swimming, he's gonna win, what else is on tv?  UOO #2: Pro athletes shouldn't be part of the Olympics.  Whether it's basketball, hockey or tennis.  As for our poor Canadian athletes -- if there were medals for 4th & 5th place or my personal favourite -- personal bests & breaking the Canadian record -- we'll be rockin'!   Even the Olympic tv ads we get seem to focus more on Vancouver 2010 then Beijing.  Whoever wins the first medal is gonna be a freakin' national hero  LOL

* Have not seen The Dark Knight.  Shameful, I know.  Hopefully, this weekend.

Remember how I said I was experiencing John Barrowman overload?  Well, the performance show tonight was overbooked and a whole group of us didn't make the cut.  It was like the fates stepped in and said "oh, you're getting tired of John Barrowman?  No show for you!"  Oh well.  Can't complain as I've already been to a few showings.  So glad my fellow Polaris gals did not heed my advice, got there earlier and was able to get into the studio.  Hope you guys were able to meet John.  So, while the show I was cruelly denied entry to is airing on the television right now, let's get to the rest of the weekend.

Met a couple of fellow LJ'ers, grasshopper64  and Beckie, and had a fun weekend running around to different panels, discussing TW and DW and the like.  Also met the gals from WI & IL -- serefina743,  emerald_nebula  & friends.  There was a bunch of actors but I was mainly there for Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones of Torchwood) and Jason Dohring (Logan of Veronica Mars; Joseph of Moonlight).  I also dropped a chunk of change on photo ops and autographs and it still came out cheaper than CreationCon the greedy bastards.
