in honour of st paddy's day

Jumping on the "What's Your Celtic Animal?" bandwagon :D

Your Animal is the Seal
You are a compassionate, sensitive soul. You feel deeply.
You are also a dreamer and a romantic. You have a glorious imagination.

You are flexible and adaptable. You can make do in any situation.
You are very loving and affectionate. You are generous toward those who are important to you.

Have a good St Patrick's Day!

the monday blahs

*  It's Monday.  BLAH

*  Weekend was uneventful.  Did some work; did some shopping.  Highlight was going to the St Lawrence Market and finally getting a peameal bacon on a bun.  The line is usually really long but I happened to catch it during a rare slow period and OMG DELICIOUS.

*  Had to wake up extra early today as I will be at our Brampton office for this week.  Me no like.  They page people here, over the intercom, and it makes me jump every damn time.

*  The sun is shining though (at least, that's what I heard as I can't see anything from this cubicle) and weather is supposed to be lovely this week.

openmydoors  sorta tagged me with the "things you associate with me" meme so here it goes (keeping it short & sweet):

Zac Efron  The boy is adorable and he sings and dances, c'mon, what's not to love?!  And, from what I've seen -- yes, I've seen Zac in the flesh!  *rubs it in* -- he's super nice to his fans.  Appears to have a good head on his shoulders; hasn't fallen into the many pitfalls of young fame (ie partying, drugs, etc) so far and has made some pretty good choices re: his career (ie turning down a record contract, thank god).  He's also legal, so there :P

That Seeker Show   LOL  I'm loving this show!  The leads playing Richard and Kahlan are just so pretty, together and separately.  I've already mentioned the sword twirling with bonus shirtlessness.  And I just realized that Craig Parker, who plays the villian, Darken Rahl, was also Haldir the Elf in Lord of the RingsI may have shed a tear when Haldir died at Helm's Deep. No wonder he looked familiar!

Handbags  This is new as my quest for a designer handbag only began a few weeks ago when my mother suggested I should get one as a birthday present to myself.   I was going to get a Coach bag but then was told by practically everyone NOT to.  Aim higher.  So I was introduced to the world of Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Prada, etc etc  I've already got an overpriced wallet, now I need a purse to go with it.  Hopefully, the search will end once busy season is over.

Asian families  Oh, something openmydoors  and I have in common.  ;)  Being a child of immigrant Asian parents makes for an, um, interesting childhood LOL  The pressure, the expectations (did you know that my father had my life planned out for me?), trying to reconcile 2 very different cultures.  Piano lessons.  Chinese school, first on Friday nights, then Saturday mornings (which meant no Saturday morning cartoons).  You respect your elders.  You will not do anything that will cause your parents to "lose face".  Not saying that my childhood was tougher than normal.  I had it good and I know it.  Not tough, just different.

i'll be there for you *clapclapclap*

I downloaded the most awesome thing yesterday -- A WHOLE BUNCH OF TV THEMES!!! Going through them was so much fun (and a good pick-me-up)! I was pretty surprised though at how bad I am with remembering themes. And then I thought this might be a fun meme/quiz. So, here are 24 TV themes. They're all from American shows and I tried to make it on the easier side but hopefully not too easy! Comments are screened for now so no cheating!

the big read

I'm still awake so snagged this meme from trystan830

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.
1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read (or in my case, own & intend to read)
3) Underline the books you LOVE.

My reading challenge continues, slowly but surely

Angels, Marian Keyes     20 / 50      6,586 / 50,000

Geez, at this rate, it's gonna take me 3 years to finish this challenge.

1. Go to your desktop and press the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).
2. Open a graphics program (Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and doing a Paste (CTRL + V).
3. Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop if you want. You can explain why you prefer such a look or why it is full of icons. Things like that.

Yep, that's Thomas Dekker as my wallpaper :)  Actually, I just changed my desktop last week, before was a Jensen/Jared picture that was up since the Chicago con (November?).  I prefer my desktop to be a single picture, very simple, so I usually have a hard time finding a picture I like that's also in the right dimensions.  I also don't like a lot of icons on my desktop, in fact, there are a few icons on there I've never used!

Meme #2:  Tagged by faninohio

RULES:
1. Compose a list of your top ten sexiest famous men.
2. Collect one picture of each guy on your list.

getting to know me

Since I have some new friends, I saw this meme and decided to snag. Thanks to bzzinglikeneon for the easy c&p.

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

doctor who and a meme

****

I've been tagged for a meme by morphing_lanes

8 random facts/habits....

(1)  Temperature-wise, I prefer it to be on the cooler side.  Low-20's is perfect for me.  I can deal with the cold but heat just kills me, I get so uncomfortable when it's hot.

(2)  In the same vein as above, going to a beach and doing nothing but lying in the sun is NOT my idea of a vacation.  I did it once -- went to the Bahamas with a couple of friends as our graduation present and for a couple of days, it rained in the morning and then the afternoon would be spent on the beach.  I was bored out of my bloody mind.  I think I spent most of that time back inside the hotel room watching television.

(3)  I have very few memories from my early childhood.  I'm so impressed by those who can remember things from the age of 4 or something.  I was 6 when my youngest brother was born and I don't remember it.  You would think a 6 year old would remember something as monumental as having another baby in the house but nope, not me.

(4)  I rarely go anywhere without my mp3 player.  The second I come home, either the tv or the radio gets turned on.  In the car, same thing.

(5)  I have way too much stuff like lotions, shampoos, hair products, etc.  For some reason, I love buying that stuff but then it takes me so long to use it all.  For the past few months, I literally had to stop myself from buying more.

(6)  I have never eaten a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  It's the jelly part.  Never liked jelly or jam.  And the thought of the 2 together... ew.

(7)  I'm developing the very bad habit of falling asleep on the couch, waking up at 2am, fumbling around and turning off the tv and lights before crawling into bed.  The strange part is that my couch is very uncomfortable.

(8)  I am currently addicted to this typing game (yea, you read right.  Typing.)  Stupid co-worker for passing on the link.
