it really is just like riding a bike

Today I did something I haven't done in, oh, let's say 20 years. I, along with bauersgirl went skating.

It ended being a great day for skating -- the sun was out, very little wind considering we were by the lake and temperature was above freezing.

Guess the saying "it's just like riding a bike, you never forget" really does apply. After a wobbly start, we were off! And we didn't fall once \o/ !! Not a lot of people when we first started at 1:30 but by the time we left a couple hours later, it was getting a tad crowded for my taste. Too many little speed demons weaving in and out :)

Most amusing part was the people watching. Especially watching teenage boys who don't know how to skate clinging to their friends. Cause really, how many situations are there where teenage boys have no qualms holding hands with their male friends in public? One boy even took down a dad who just happen to be near him. They had a good laugh about it, the dad helped him up and even helped him get over to the seating.

I am going to be so sore tomorrow. I'm sore now. I can already feel it in my shoulder blades, I guess it's from constantly trying to keep balance. While skating, my feet went from hurting to being fine to hurting again. And I just know come tomorrow morning, my legs will be feeling the effects. I am not looking forward to that!
