beginning of summer post

Quick postage here- so I am back in STL- boo and yea! I already miss FL and everyone! Most of my friends graduated this year, so I have no idea what I am going to do about next year (considering they are going anywhere from New Orleans all the way over to Japan for grad school). I know three of my good friends will be vack from study abroad, but who knows if things will still be the same. Last year a friend went abroad, and I just recently caught up with him a few weeks before the end of the semester... well fall semester should be AMAZING considering I have class 3 days/ week (Tues-Thurs) and then independent study on Mon/Wed. I will definitely try to make the most of my senior year and ACTUALLY get involved in some clubs!

This summer is going to be crazy hectic and I am not sure whether to look forward to it or loathe it. I have an internship at the Boys and Girls Club for my Human Development major. I am not quite sure what I will be doing yet, but I know some of it will be teaching them about plants -_- , but perhaps I can throw some neuroscience in there as well because we all know that is way more exciting than lame plants! woot for the dendrites and white matter and whatnot anyway...

I am still awaiting my physiology grade which I REALLY REALLY want (am hoping for a "B" which would look good since our professor used to teach med school students) I got an "A", however in my counseling and writing classes, but a lame "B" in group dynamics even though I got an "A" on the first two exams which contributed to 50% total grade and As/Bs on writing assignments=13% of total grade... It makes no sense! lol

Anyway, I have been searching for a summer job...again... all the jobs that are available that I know of are during the day when my internship will be (lab jobs, a job filing at aunt's work, another job that my aunt knows of that requires a degree in biology which I am just 2 classes away from!) ugghness. Hopefully it won't be as crazy a job hunt as two years ago when I filled out 60 applications (not kidding- I counted them).

I visited my friend who recently had a baby. She is sooo cute!!! On the 28th, a group of my friends and I are heading over to 6 Flags which should be fun (not too crazy about 6 flags, but havent seen them in forever which I am excited to do!)

Anyway, if anyone wants to hang out this summer, send a message my way!

string chords

ok, so I was wanting to try out a lil violin or guitar before I head back to college and I am trying to figure out the notes. I figured out the chord charts, but if there is a chord where you strum strings 6,4,3,2,1 and push down say strings 3,2,1, how do you skip strumming string 5?
Also- wtf do all these mean?

C major:
C minor
C 7
C m7
C maj7
C 7b5
C 7#5

etc etc etc

Just a couple of updates.

I started at the World Aquarium on Tuesday and volunteer tuesday, wednesday, friday, and saturday from 12- 5 or 6. I helped feed some animals and clean out the cages, as any zookeeper would have to do, but I was the assistant in shark feeding yesterday! Woot! I helped with stingray and snake feedings, too. They almost made me feed the tarantulas, but at that exact moment another employee came over and asked if I wanted to help with the stingrays and I was likeYES! lolz

I saw Fiddler on the roof last night. It was pretty good.

Today, Matt and I went to Fazoli's for lunch, watched the Full Metal Alchemist movie, and played SSB Brawl a lil bit

Kim and I went to Happy Joe's on Thursday before her vacation up to Chicago.

I leave for Florida on the 25th, in two weeks, so if anyone wants to do something before I go back, please let me know soon.

I totally have not started packing for the trip back down, other than a couple of outfits. I am not looking forward to the 15 hour drive...

That's about it, I guess

So, the past couple of weeks have been overly hectic, crazy, and insane. Somehow, however, I am doing better so far than last semester... I got a 94 on my first genetics test and a bunch of "A"s and a B on the quizzes, I got a B on my spanish test and think that the one tomorrow (knock on wood haha) will be pretty simple, too. I somehow managed to get a B on my CHEMISTRY test and have been getting "B"s on my labs (last semester, I was getting "D"s on tests and "C"s on labs 0_0 -don't ask me how this is working out so far in my favor this semester haha), and botany, eh well I think I got a B or C on the test, but totally could have gotten a high B, possibly A, but it was the day after the chem test and I didn't look at anything until the night before botany so yea. I have been getting "A"s on the labs, so that should help bring it back up. So umm yea, after a month of class, I have probably 3 Bs and an A or 2 and 2. I have sooo muc

Hey- just a quick question. I was wondering if anyone knew of a gym to take gymnastics (preferably private lessons) in the saint petersburg/ tampa florida region. I really want to get back into it and thought maybe I could take it during the schoolyear since this summer is looking to be dedicated to taking statistics and working. Thanks ahead of time

So my school is offering a winter term in which you can go to Japan for 3 weeks. I really would like to go, especially because I would be able to have a translator with me and then I could take japanese 101 but as a global perspective instead of foreign language credit since I already have that with spanish 101/ 102. Unfortunately the program is $6200... meaning I would need to somehow get a hold of an extra $1000-2000 to pay for my part. What I am asking is, does anyone have any ideas on how to get extra money quick or good paying jobs? I know it sounds a bit selfish on my part, though. Though work study, I get 800-1000/ semester working 12 hrs/ week but about 500 goes to books. Anyway so yea if any ideas come to mind, let me know!

The Sonnet
Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLD)

Romantic, hopeful, and composed. You are the Sonnet. Get it? Composed?

Sonnets want Love and have high ideals about it. They're conscientious people, caring & careful. You yourself have deep convictions, and you devote a lot of thought to romance and what it should be. This will frighten away most potential mates, but that's okay, because you're very choosy with your affections anyway. You'd absolutely refuse to date someone dumber than you, for instance.

Your exact female opposite:
Genghis Khunt

Random Brutal Sex Master
Lovers who share your idealized perspective, or who are at least willing to totally throw themselves into a relationship, will be very, very happy with you. And you with them. You're already selfless and compassionate, and with the right partner, there's no doubt you can be sensual, even adventurously so.

You probably have lots of female friends, and they have a special soft spot for you. Babies do, too, at the tippy-top of their baby skulls.

ALWAYS AVOID: The 5-Night Stand (DBSM), The False Messiah (DBLM), The Hornivore (RBSM), The Last Man on Earth (RBSD)

CONSIDER: The Loverboy (RGLM)
