File: Natural (2006).zip
Artist: MINMI
Size: 89.2 MB
Genre: Pop, jazz, reggae
Tracklisting: under the cut!Collapse )
This is a really happy, upbeat album. I first heard of MINMI (and chances are that some of you discovered her the same way) through the anime Samurai Champloo, where her song "Shinjitsu no Uta" was played as the ending theme. I have to say that the tracks of this album, while still very enjoyable, don't sound much at all like "Shinjitsu no Uta" (much to my disappointment). However, "Natural" is still a lot of fun to listen to. :) MINMI does a good job here incorporating elements of pop, jazz, and reggae into her music. Plus, I think its mood is perfect for summertime. :D

File: Nanairo no Ashita ~brand new beat~.mp3
Artist: BoA
Size: 6.27 MB
Genre: Pop

This is BoA's latest single, for those of you who haven't already heard it. It's super cute; very reminiscent of BoA's earlier works (think "My Sweetie"). While it's nothing outstanding coming from BoA, it's pretty damn catchy. :D I like it! You can find the PV below.

File: Addicted.mp3
Size: 4.97 MB
Genre: Punk rock

ELLEGARDEN is a pretty recent discovery for me. :) What really stood out to me about this band was the vocalist: not only does he speak fluent English, but he sounds surprisingly similar to, say... Tom Delonge of blink-182. In fact, I personally think that ELLEGARDEN's music sounds a lot like to the kind of punk rock that you can find in here in North America. But don't let that put you off (if that did put you off q:), because ELLEGARDEN's music is really fun to listen to. The chorus of "Addicted" is full of emotion and delivers a real punch to face. In a good way.

File: Good Morning Kid.mp3
Size: 3.36 MB
Genre: Punk rock

Another song by ELLEGARDEN. :) I like the lyrics of this one. Despite it being punk rock, "Good Morning Kid" has a sad sound/theme to it.

File: Supernova.mp3
Size: 3.44 MB
Genre: Punk rock

Yes, another ELLEGARDEN SONG. X3;; This one has a faster tempo than the other two, and is dangerously catchy. By the by, not all of ELLEGARDEN's songs are in English. It just so happens that all of the ones I uploaded this time around were some of English songs they've put out.

File: D.L.N..mp3
Artist: Gazette
Size: 5.65 MB
Genre: Rock

This is a song from Gazette's newest album, "NIL". It's also one of the softer sounding songs on the album. During the chorus and various other parts of the song, you can hear what must be a small choir of children singing in the background; it adds a very nice touch. :)

File: Dani California.mp3
Artist: Red Hot Chili Peppers
Size: 4.78 MB
Genre: Rock

In case you didn't already know, this is the song that was chosen as the theme of the upcoming, highly anticipated live-action Death Note movie. Though I've only seen two trailers of the movie so far, I have read quite a bit of the Death Note manga... and I can't really say that I think this song suits the atmosphere of the story very well. Well, whatever -- it's still a cool song. XD

File: 3gatsu 9ka (with Quartet).mp3
Artist: Remioromen
Size: 6.87 MB
Genre: Soft rock

I really fell in love with Remioromen after watching Ichi Rittoru no Namida (One Litre of Tears), so they're once again making an appearance here on OR. X3 This is another version of the beautiful song featured in the drama. It has a softer instrumental accompaniment than the original.

File: CHIME.mp3
Artist: Remioromen
Size: 5.46 MB
Genre: Soft rock

This is B-side of one of Remioromen's newer singles, I believe. I really like it -- it has a very open and refreshing quality to it.

File: Seishun Amigo.mp3
Artist: Shuuji to Akira (Kamenashi Kazuya of KAT-TUN & YamaPi of NewS)
Size: 6.32 MB
Genre: Pop

I suspect that everyone and their mothers has this song stored on their hard-drives by now, but I couldn't help myself from uploading it here. XD;; This song, a collaboration between two very darling boys from two very popular boy-bands, is the by-product of the drama Nobuta wo Produce. I loved the drama very much, and I have to admit that this song is terribly catchy. It has a very Latin-influenced sound to it, as you can probably judge by the "amigo" in its name. Tee hee.

File: Sanctuary.mp3
Artist: Utada Hikaru
Size: 5.87 MB
Genre: Contemporary pop

Another song that's been in widespread circulation for quite some time, but I still decided to upload it here. It's the English version of Utada's semi-recent single "Passion", as well as the song that is featured in the North American version of Kingdom Hearts II (which I want to own very badly). I personally prefer the Japanese version by far, but "Sanctuary" is still worth a listen. :)

File: [PV] Kiss Me Good-Bye.rmvb
Artist: Angela Aki
Size: 13.9 MB
Genre: Ballad

The PV for the theme song of Final Fantasy XII (wahhh, I want to play it now! D:). I'm actually not a big fan of the song itself (though I do think that the chorus is nice), but the PV features a lot of clips from the game. Whoo!

File: [PV] Nanairo no Ashita ~brand new beat~.avi
Artist: BoA
Size: 90.6 MB
Genre: Pop

I actually really like this PV -- its cuteness is totally up to par with the cuteness of the song. And I like the way BoA challenges people with her baseball cap. XD
