gair cymraeg yn ddyddiol

2 similar words today - the verb croesawu [croi-SA-wee, oi as in point] & the related noun croeso [CROI-so, so as in sob, not sew].
When you arrive in Wales, you should see a "Croeso to Wales" sign. It's good to croesawu visitors & the signs remind me I'm nearly home!

Today's word croesawu = to welcome, the noun croeso = welcome. Croeso to 2013 - try to speak (or think) in Welsh everyday if you can!

Today's word is lapio [LAP-yo, yo as in YOb, not yoyo]. Once I've found where I've hidden everything, I have mountains of lapio to do today.

yn air heddiw yn lapio? fy ngwaith heddiw yn lapio! ac yfory, a trennydd...

Today's word lapio = to wrap. Think have broken the back of the presents I need to lapio, but there's some I haven't been able to find!

Today's word is mabwysiadu [mab-ois-YAD-ee, oi as in pOInt]. @hywelgwynfyn suggests every Welsh speaker should mabwysiadu a learner to help.

rwy'n hoffi tafodiaith ogleddol - mae'n mabwysiadu llai geiriau o saesneg.

Today's word mabwysiadu = to adopt. There seems to be a lot of support for the "speaker mabwysiadu a learner" suggestion!

Apologies, tried to tweet this morning but it didn't work! Today's word is enwau [EN-why, but don't say the h!].

Today, we are trying to think of female Welsh enwau for when the new baby arrives in 6 weeks.

Today's word enwau = names, and name = enw [EN-oo]. Thanks for all the suggestions for enwau - there's a few that have made us think.

Today's word = tacluso [tak-LISS-o, o as in yob, not yoyo]. Today I will tacluso the conservatory mess into the new (huge) shelving unit!

gallwch gorfodi y plant i tacluso i'w hystafell? dywedwch wrthyf - sut.

Today's word tacluso = to tidy. We also use cymoni / cymhenu in the South. To say a room is tidy, you'd use taclus [TAK-liss].

p.s. надо было с самого начала всё это вытаскивать и складывать в одно место. а теперь придется ползать по всему своему твиттеру. а там, блин, много!
