::unwinds from cramped position beneath console as door sounds, checking wrist chronometer::

::heads for hatch, unable to resist a brief mutter of sulky annoyance::

About time...

::presses requisite code to unlock, rubbing hands on slacks as an afterthought while stepping aside::

::shifts expression as door opens, forcing self to relax and offer an almost beaming grin::

Well, hello.

::narrows eyes slightly, observing pilot while stepping way around him to enter::

::pauses within airlock, watching hatch close once again::

Tom. I believe the appropriate phrase would be something along the lines of 'you called'?

As a matter of fact, I did.

::loses buoyancy of mood for a minute, returning askance look and letting smile fade::

Sorry.

You don't have to sound so put out about it.

No, it's...

::shakes head slightly, warming voice and moving closer::

I'm sorry. Jenay was being difficult tonight, your timing simply seemed a bit strange.

Ah.

Well, picking a night where she isn't being difficult is actually closer to impossible these days, or so the grapevine says...

::extends arm, motion toward rear of shuttle and following her head::

This won't take long, then I suppose you can supervise the evening comm and see what that does.

Why are you being so unkind? I haven't denied you your daughter.

::blinks downward, ground to halt by both Ocampan's small hand shoved flat against chest and her decidedly angry tone::

::takes a pace back, lifting own hands in silent plea for mercy::

::drops them back to side, curling corners of lips up::

No, I don't suppose you have. You'll have to excuse my human tendancy to exaggerate my misfortunes.

I didn't call you here to pick an argument. Honestly.

Very well. Why was I called here?

::rocks back on heels, relaxing only slightly...still not out of the woods yet::

::motions around rear compartment of Flyer::

A surprise. You're going to have to close your eyes for it. Here...

::grasps an elbow, tugging her around to face, ignoring look of wary skepticism::

Now go on, close them.

I'm not certain I should trust you, your fluctuating mood taken into consideration.

::offers small smile to soften words, sighing in resignation::

Very well.

Your confidence in me is astounding.

::loosens grip a little, glancing around quickly::

Ready?

::swivels head back to watch companion, waiting for nod of assent::

All right. Computer...initialize program Paris Delta Alpha. And restrict all access to the Delta Flyer until further instruction.

::tilts head curiously, dragging eyelids up after nudge on elbow::

::feels eyes widen slightly, taking a step back::

::turns in slow circle, taking in surroundings...craggy wall, alternate pockets of light and shadow, a floor still somehow not entirely smoothed despite countless steps trod across...::

::takes tentative steps, coming with range of flora bed and reaching out to touch::

::pulls gaze back up, staring at pilot::

Home?

Well, the best facsimile I could manage with my few memories and the little else I had gleaned...

Underground Ocampa, in all it's...

::twists head, searching for apt word::

...atmospheric glory. I hope the setup is at least remotely right...

It's no secret going home has always been at the back of your mind, and circumstances being what they are...

I know what it's like to want a connection to something unconditionally yours. All things considered, this is the least I could do.

::turns away again, wrapping around around self and staring off into artificial horizon, mesmerized::

But how...?

It wasn't that difficult, just a matter of modifying a few of the principles for large-scale holo...

::shrugs, moving closer and following line of sight::

I made a few emitters, isolated a few relays...voila, holoprogram.

Just don't tell the natives about this.

::laughs softly::

I doubt this particular setting would be of interest to anyone but myself.

Still...

::turns back, frowning slightly::

This must be a great drain on the Delta Flyer. Are energy sources so expendable for you?

Keep it up and you'll be able to stand toe to toe with any Vulcan. Tuvok would be proud of you...not that he'd admit it, of course.

::shifts on feet awkwardly, taking another look around::

If there are any modifications you want, we can work through them together...you'd know this place better than me. I also thought of adding another layer to the program...something for the surface...if that was something you wanted to explore.

Minus the Kazon, of course.

It was my pleasure.

Except for the low overhangs, that is.

::clears throat, a little taken back by the swift change in mood::

Quite a while ago, actually.

Computer...end program.
