So, Saturday. Saturday was the Prutrip. This is actually only the first Prutrip I have been on in my two years as a member of the Prufrock Society, and I would say it is my last, but as Kurt came on this one, apparently graduating does not affect your ability to come on Prutrips.
The Prutrip in question was called Today: Hyde Park. Tomorrow: Somewhere Else, and we, logically enough, took a trip to Hyde Park.
First stop was Powell's, where I did not buy a Latin/English dictionary from, like, the forties or something (the Snarskis convinced me it was outdated. Because, you know, I really need to know how to say "hot dog" in Latin), but did pick up the Cultural Resistance Reader, which looks ... really cool. It makes me feel all counter-culture, and it's bright green, which is always a bonus. Powell's was actually a really cool store, of the I-would-totally-go-back-there-again variety. I am all "ooo, used books! Shiny!"
So, yes. Then we in fact did not go to the Reynolds Club for lunch (Iamsosorrynewredshoes! *flails*), but instead to ... Bartlett or something cafeteria? This place = wins because it had a big mural that contained the words "the Glory of Manly Sports."
And then we split up, and some of us who are not me went to the oriental institute, and some of us who are me went to seminary co-op, where i got a DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN postcard, because that picture makes me glee, and flipped through a copy of the On Our Backs Guide to Lesbian Sex, which was really interesting and I kind of want a copy.
And then we went home. Keep in mind that for the Prufrock Society, bus rides are adventures in and of themselves. I ... am afraid it has been too long to even try and describe it properly, if I ever could.
And then I went to a party at sakkiechan's house ♥ and saw split_reality and had a variety of wacky adventures. Also I drove. So all in all it was a Big Thing.
And ... yes. I have petered out of talkingitude, so y'all are spared any more of my babble.
Also, note to self: burn a Cure CD for davedelamancha.
