yin and yang

Beer and cookies. Add awesome housemates and unsubtly homoerotic shonen anime, and some time with a gay fantasia on national themes, and you have the straight man's cure for Valentine's Syndrome: androgyny! Good for taking my mind off the frustration of cuddle-snuggling, or wanting to cuddle-snuggle, with intelligent, beautiful, companionable female (never more than) friends.

All people want is to love, and to be loved in return. It's so easy to think, "Oh, those poor gays," and forget that it's not all that much easier for us straights and bis. If only we could magically pair up the right Adams with the right Eves (and the right Adams with the right Steves, and the right Allisons with the right Eves). And then we'd all be one big happy family, because all our petty little problems would be eclipsed by overpopulation.
