Every week, professional songwriter Jonathan Coulton writes, performs, and produces a new song and posts it for free on his blog. (Archive here.) For anyone else this would be a recipe for disaster, but Johnathan Coulton is made of awesome. He does uproariously silly songs about things like furry lobsters, Mandelbrot sets, television news announcers, Swedish furniture stores, and DNA ("If it says TGGTCGAAC / Then you might get the cancer! / If it says GTCACGACAGG / Then you shouldn’t eat shrimp or nuts!")--and they're all solidly produced.
He also deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award for awesome song titles.
Thanks to Greg for giving me the heads up.
Go, Soterios Johnson, go / All the club kids are watching your glowstick glow / With the light of a truth you can’t hide / That the news is the news, but the dance goes on forever
