Feb. 18th, 2006 @ 12:02 pm oksa reveals its true intentions
Current Mood: snarky
From an email Andy received from the Oberlin Korean Students' Association (because being an East Asian Studies major grants you unsolicited access to their secret knowledge):

#1 I am forwarding you information on the Shansi prize--read if you are
interested in receiving $$$$$ to think, do, and be Asian.

I dunno. I'd find it hard to trust someone who received $$$$$ to do Asians.

even if she was cute

And then, Aries began thinking about racial/sexual rumors, mostly Japanese, some of which she would damn well need monetary incentive for. Love is not enough.
I wonder what good Korean kinks htere are. sides video games.

EAS majors (and actual Asian-Americans) have also told me that milk is not a popular drink in Asia because Asians are 90% more likely to be lactose intolerant.

The lactose intolerance thing is actually true. Although I think it might be Europeans, not Asians. I should look that up...

Yeah, but seriously.

Japanese-style bakeries use more milk than their European counterparts do.

And everything imaginable is flavored with milk. Including ice cream (which is bland).

Well the thing is lactose intolerant doesn't mean you can't have any dairy, usually it means there's some individual limit to how much milk digesting enzyme you can produce. Like my dad is lactose intolerant but he still eats milk chocolate and some cheese.

It's pretty much common everywhere in the world except european/western countries. I read a joke somewhere that people should be diagnosed with 'lactose persistance' since the norm seems to be lactose intolerance everywhere else heh.

(fyi apparently the ability to produce the enzyme decreases with age, so most babies don't have problems)

wasn't that informative Xd

If you want kinks, look at Japan. I can give you a reading list.

Oh man, someone should teach an exco on Japanese sexual perverions. They'd probably get kicked out of school and sued for racism or something.

I can think of, oh, five or six zillion people who'd be interested in receiving $$$$$ to do Asians. *shudder* (American hXc anime dorks? Anyone?)

It's shorthand for HARDCORE.

Bad shorthand. It's like being straightedge and writing it as sXe.

Yep. It's like writing hardXore. It's like sXe in that kids who were into hardcore copied straightedge kids (who are often the same group) and wrote the letters on either side of the underage hand-X from concerts. That's an unintelligible sentence. Okay! When you go to a concert and are underage, they mark an X on your hand so the bartenders won't serve you, right? Well, straightedge kids, who refuse to drink or use substances (some are also celibate and/or vegan), sometimes mark the S and E for StraightEdge on their hand on either side of the X. HardCore kids do the same. hXe! >O

But they have plenty of sXe, I assume.
