Oct. 13th, 2005 @ 01:59 pm upon hearing "night swimming" on my roommate's playlist
Current Music: Men At Work - Down Under
So I've heard "Night Swimming," "Blister In The Sun," and "Take On Me" on my roommate's speakers, and somehow it never occurred to me until now to ask the obvious:

"Dude, you ever been to CTY?"
"Yeah!"
"Really? Me too!"
"Awesome! Which site?'
"Lancaster."
"Really? Me too! 1999?"
"Man...I knew you looked kinda familiar."

I had nearly forgotten all about CTY--fantastic as it was, college is pretty much CTY++, and memories of previews get eased out by the movie. But it does explain a lot of why Andy and I share so much in common.

Center for Talented Youth. Designed to give really, really smart middle school and junior high kids a taste of college early on. Entrance is based on SAT scores, leading to a disproportionate number of TMAs (Talented My Ass). Like me.

Dude... Andy gets around. He and I were born in the same middle-of-nowhere Indiana town, and moved away within about a year of each other.

It's a small world, and getting smaller.

Especially considering you know someone from the other side of it. :]
