Hot damn.

I honestly don't know what to think.

There's been a push to end dollar diplomacy in Taiwanese foreign relations for some time now. I think I'm beginning to see why.

Also: Taiwanese and Chinese journalists need to stop using the words "slam" and "blast" as if they meant anything other than "slam" or "blast." Seriously, man, just because those definitions are on dictionary.com doesn't mean anyone but you ever uses them that way.

China: This conflict has gone on far too long. Let's settle this peacefully.
Taiwan: Sure, why not.
China: In the interests of peace and prosperity, we offer this compromise: plans for mutual cooperation, funding for technological innovation, economic development, buzzword buzzword buzzword. and in return you become our slaves just a little bit
Taiwan: What? No!
China: YOU REJECT PEACE. YOU ARE A DANGEROUS RADICAL DEMOCRATIC REGIME AND A THREAT TO STABILITY IN THE REGION.
U.S.: Did someone say "threat to stability"?
China: THEY DON'T LIKE PEACE.
U.S.: They don't like peace? Taiwan, you can't come over and play anymore.
Taiwan: WHAT

Argh! I have a paper due Wednesday that I haven't finished the reading for, and a programming assignment due Thursday that I haven't started yet, and I spent all afternoon pretending to work and looking at Wikipedia's collection of historically significant photographs.

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Friday:
Me: So. One more week, huh?
Steve: Oh man. There are, like, 24 people I want to make out before I graduate.
Me: Graduate with no regrets!
Steve: (closes eyes and puckers lips)
Me: (backing away) Uh. I'm not one of them, am I?
Steve: Oh, Kevin. You're three of them.
