I feel like shit. (Sorry, profanity-sensitive people. "Crap" or "dung" is not sufficient to express how shit I feel today.) My one-meal-a-day routine is finally starting to get to me. Too much grease, maybe, or oil or MSG or whatever the hell they saturate stuff with in ghetto Taiwanese restaurants these days. Had some good clean food today--makes me feel a little better, but not by much.
Hope I feel better tomorrow...I don't want to miss tomorrow for anything.
I feel pretty~ So very pretty~ And I pity anyone who isn't MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~
Heh. Sorry, Robert DeNiro moment. Anyway, I feel better now. Had a nice, long restful sleep and a good homecooked meal, so I am healthy and happy. Fever is gone, headache is gone. I feel good.
Interesting dream last night. I was at NEHS for the first day of grade 13. Yes, grade 13. Apparently people weren't happy that we were going to be out of school so long after high school and before college, so they made us go back to school until it was time to leave. (How gay.) We didn't learn anything new. All our classes were recaps of what we had learned in 11th and 12th grade, and since we were all going to be leaving at different times, often without notice, the teachers gave us tons of easy but work-intensive homework that was to be turned in once a week. (The English homework was a binder full of fifth-grade level short stories. We had to read them all and write an essay on each. I finished the entire semester's worth of assignments in three hours. Ridiculous.) It was kind of fun being around all my old friends again, though, and I remember a part where Felicia, Lisa, Ishy, Michelle, Jenny Chu, and I were lying around on a big grassy quad (Oberlin's quad? My memory fails me) making idle conversation. Many of us were complaining about how the school was obsessed with control and how we couldn't wait to leave...felt a lot like eleventh grade in that respect.
For my Chinese project that week I had to make a CG comic strip or animated short in Chinese. I had originally planned to do a feature-length animated short, but I waited until the last minute to do it so I only made three cels and turned them into a comic strip. (Far beyond my abilities in real life, anyhow.) They were beautiful cels, though, a wonderful fan tribute to a Miyazaki cartoon that never existed. The teacher made us watch the original in class. It was a beautiful piece, albeit more than a little surreal (this was a dream, after all). Something about a noble race of lizard people breaking into a castle to prevent a powerful lizard sorceror from using an evil artifact. Lots of bags of holding and pocket dimension traps, for some reason--people kept getting caught in rifts in space and time. And there were these two comic-relief garden gnomes who kept humping each other. Directed by Robert DeNiro, of all people.
Maybe leaving Taiwan won't be so bad after all. Much as I miss the friends I made there, I'm glad that dream was just a dream.
This may seem like an odd question to ask on LiveJournal, but does anyone have the game Swordman (Shiao something Jiang Hu) by Interserv? I've had it for a while now and I've never been able to get it to work. The game runs, but there are no textures--everything is covered in white. The troubleshooting guide in the manual says this happens when you have less than 4MB of video RAM on your 3D card and DirectX 7 or earlier. I have 16MB of video RAM on my 3D card and DirectX 9. The patches on the Interserv website don't work, and I can't find any useful information elsewhere. Advice, anyone?
