|Le Chateau York = Pot House
Leigh and I just received the following notice under our door: Current Mood: amused
To all tenants on the 18th floor. The office has been receiving a number of complaints of a 'pot' smell on the floor. Please use your balconies for this as the smoke is getting into other tenants apartments.
So, it looks like our building managers support the usage of pot.

|Booty_grl's Bday Festivities!!!
Leigh has a birthday coming up next week on December 15 and to celebrate we will be doing a dinner on Friday, Dec 14 and then partying-it-up at Pharoah's (seems to be turning into a local hang out for us these days).
As it is the holiday season none of us really have that much money so we're taking suggestions for dinner. Idealy we would like to do Miyabi at around 6:30ish but are open to suggestions if anyone has any. If you are not able to afford dinner then at least stop by for a drink and then perhaps join us at Pharoah's afterwards. I will be spinning and am hoping for a fun night!
This is just a heads up post as I will be making the official Facebook invite shortly.
Keep December 14 open!
And if it's not too much to ask, wish Leigh good luck on her upcoming exams!!!! Current Mood: sleepy

OMG!!!! This game is soo cool!!! Current Mood: excited
So far it's been pretty easy (ok there have been a couple challenging levels), but the games design is so out there! We haven't gotten too far into it yet but have encountered some of the most intriguing, fascinating levels ever! The music rocks (lots of stuff from Mario 3 all redone with a full orchestra), the physics leave us shaking our heads (the game is almost "too 3D" sometimes, but I love it!) AND the game allows 2 players to play at the same time (1 person controls Mario and the other person controls a pointer on the screen that can pick up stars and attack enemies). The 2nd player isn't needed but it's nice to have an extra pointer on the screen for help and it's a great way for both Leigh and I to play at the same time.
We stayed up super late last night playing even though we both had to be up early. We just couldn't pull ourselves away. "K we have to go to bed......er....well....ok may be one more star". Which led to another, and then another and then...*yawn*...another.
Curse our busy schedules, we want to play more!

|3 Days off. 3 Excellent days off =)
3 days away from work is always a blessing. It doesn't matter if they're productive or lazy, as long as they're away from work then they're great.
Friday was an excellent start to the weekend. Leigh and I had a busy night planned and started out at the EEC to see Roger Sanchez. Wow were we ever impressed! I wasn't really sure what to expect, would he be good? Would he suck? What would he play? You know, the usual questions one asks before they see a big name.
Well one thing was for sure (actually two things), he was a very very talented DJ. Flawless mixing, tricks (he did some slick ass beat-juggling, some scratching, used lots of effects), excellent crowd interaction. This guys was obviously a professional who's been doing this for a long time. He had the club (which was completely packed btw) pumping and going crazy. It was quite a sight to see!
By the way, the other thing that was for sure was that his pants were absolutely terrible! My God were they awful!
Now then Roger was one of two highlights from this event. The other highlight was a guy who picked a fight with me for standing on his dancefloor...
I was standing backstage along with a bunch of other people and was watching Roger spin. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was standing because quite frankly...who cares, I was backstage as opposed to being in the middle of the dancefloor. Well, apparently someone did care. There was a rather inebriated looking individual who was dancing up a storm right up against the back of the speakers (approx 2 feet away from me). He approached me and screamed something unintelligible into my ear causing it to ring, tickle and sting all at once. I nodded and smiled thinking he was just talking about how great Roger was and stayed put. A few minutes later he approached me again:
Guy: You don't look like you're having a good time and you're not dancing. Could you get off the dancefloor and give me some room?
Side note - No I wasn't dancing, I was too busy watching Roger work his magic. As for not having a good time, I wasn't aware that a smile that stretches ear to ear was a sign of boredom or grumpyness.
Jon: I'm sorry but I am actually having a good time and I'm not on your dancefloor, I'm just standing here.
A few more minutes pass buy
Guy: Excuse me, if you're not going to dance then please get off my floor. There isn't a lot of dancefloor here but there is lots of carpet for you to stand on.
I look down and see that I have literally (and I mean literally) 3 inches of my foot on the hard floor. I chuckled and moved my foot but apparently a couple toes back to it after a few minutes...so he approached me again.
Guy: Listen, I don't appreciate you getting in my face. You're making me feel very uncomfortable.
Jon: How am I getting in your face? I'm not even talking to you.
Guy: There is plenty of carpet over there, I don't have a lot of dancefloor.
Jon: You have more room to dance here then anyone on the actually dancefloor. Technically you're not even on the dancefloor. The dancefloor is out there in front of the stage!
I ignored him for the rest of the time we were there.
Gah! So annoying. I didn't want to start anything which this guy cuz really it wasn't worth it, but at the same time he was being absolutely ridiculous. All I was doing was standing there, I didn't even acknowledge him and certainly wan't in his way.
We left shortly after the small dispute and headed down to Pharoah's for the last bit of Elevate. Good crowd there, the night seems to be going pretty smoothly. They get a consistent crowd out which is nice. We had a great time hanging out with Denny, Pam, Calvin, Zach and others who were out.
The first part of Saturday was spent cleaning up the apartment and then we went out to Mongo's Grill for Denny & Pam's birthday supper.
Mmmmmmmmm I love that place so much! It's so good! Pricey...but good! We enjoyed a very nice meal. Good food, friends, laughs...very good times!
Leigh and I had to rush off however as I took the opening decks slot at Dimentions (we couldn't afford tix so I took the slot in order to get Leigh and I in. It was a fair trade). The slot was typical, minor tech problems at the beginning which were quickly sorted out. No one was really there which was fortunate because the gear they had set up presented a small challenge. They had 1 tech and 1 Numark turntable. Yikes...I despise Numark turntables! I'm sure their good if you are familiar with them but that was the first time I had used one in 5+ years. My first experience with one was rather messy. They're so touchy! I did my best and didn't think much of it. It really wasn't a big deal considering it was the opening slot. Had it been later on in the evening with people there then that would have been different. No biggie =)
The party itself was...alright. People didn't start to arrive until closer to midnight and even by 12:30 there was maybe only 30 or so people there. It was a very unfortunate turnout and we ended up leaving shortly after 12:30. The next day however we were informed that it did eventually pick up and turned into a pretty decent show.
Sunday was spent grocery shopping and visiting with my family. Leigh and I gave Cole his birthday gift (a remote-controlled helicopter...no it didn't fly, it just drove along the floor). He seemed to really enjoy it. So much so that he wants to buy one for a female friend of his named Pearl. Hehehe it was adorable! We also got him a little pilot badge for him to wear while playing with his new toy and he LOOOVED it. We put him to bed and he wanted to sleep with the badge and the copter but Mommy said that she'll put them somewhere safe so that he could play with them tomorrow. I read a bedtime story to Cole before we left and had a very nice talk with him. He said he was going to have good dreams that night about his mommy, brother, sister and daddy. They were all going to be playing with his new helicopter. *sigh* So cute! After I tucked him in I saw that he was sleeping with the birthday card that Leigh and I gave him (it was a Harry Potter card) and so we talked about Harry Potter for a bit as well as my big spoke earings (he said I looked like a pirate hehe). I had such a good talk with him. It was great!
And that was that. Our weekend came to an end and so begins another week (started off a little rough as I slept in for work this morning hehe...oops).
Other updates include:
Mandy's fundraiser is coming up this Friday and I'll be playing at it, however I have no idea what to play. This won't be the standard "rave" crowd there so I'm at a loss. House / Electro is probably a safe bet but the jury is still out on that one.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
We also finally (FINALLY) released our main headliner and venue for New Years this year. We are extremely (hell I'm giddy) to be bringing in Signum *drooools* and I am soooooooo excited for it!!!!!!! We'll also be having the event at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre!!! 4 rooms of fun!
Now then, time to start thinking about decorations! Current Mood: sleepy

No I'm not going to bash this comic (as much as I would love to that is), instead I was surprized today when I read it and actually chuckled. Current Mood: amused
3 of the kids were standing around eating marshmellows and one of the boys looked at his and said:
"Marshmellows would be good in your back pocket when you get spanked".
Hehehe....so true! Wish I'd thought of that while growing up lol

I love the word "Spooky". Not sure why, it's just fun to say =)
Life has been pretty eventful in the last little while and it's surprizing that I haven't had any of my long winded posts to update the world on the Life of Crono. Well the lull has come to an end and so out comes my most recent novel.
First off, I had a great birthday! =)
The first part of the celebration was at The Vibe last Wednesday and it was a lot of fun! It was a nice tame celebration where quite a few friends came out. Thank you to everyone! It was a good night to relax and hang out. As if the birthday celebration wasn't enough we were treated to some rather amusing entertainment as well. An older woman, probably in her 40's was wandering around the club looking rather unhappy. I was sitting at the door with a bunch of people and she walked by wispering something unintelligible and walked off. I approached her asking her to repeat what she said and it turns out she was extremely unhappy with the music and the service she had received. I asked her to explain what had happened and she said that the bar staff were treating her like shit and that the DJ (Berbs) was being a bitch to her. She wanted to speak with managment so I informed her that I was incharge of the night and asked her to explain everything that had happened. Apparently the DJ would not play her requests. I apologized and explained that the DJ's who play here do not take requests. They are performing artists who play their own music to create their own sound, Denny jumped in as well supporting my explanation but she still did not understand this and said that DJ's should always play people's requests, that's their job and continued to bitch about the club and it's staff. In an attempt to make amends I offered to buy her a drink but she refused and stormed off.
We all chuckled about this for a bit and I later found out that the bartender had attempted to kick her out earlier. I also found out that she had been requesting "Red Red Wine" from Berbs. The entertainment didn't stop there however as Steph found her in the washroom apparently talking to herself over and over again. After hearing this I went to get security but as I was leaving she came out of the washroom and walked into the club and wandered around. We found her stealing costers from all the tables and putting them in her bag. We kept an eye on her for most of the night but she didn't really cause any more trouble...well...not much that is. Later on while I was watching the door I felt something touch my pocket. I looked down and saw that the woman had the strap attatched to my keys and was pulling me towards her. Startled by this I asked if I could help her and she leaned in and wispered that she wanted to dance with me and started pulling me towards the dancefloor. I resisted saying that I had to watch the door but she continued to plead. After getting firm with her she backed off and went back to the dancefloor alone. She didn't cause any more problems for the rest of the night.
Strange woman indeed.
Part two of the celebrations took place at Pharaohs and was a fantastic night! Thank you everyone who came out! I hope you all had a good time, I sure did! =)
After living the life of a "Light Weight" with alcohol consumption I am usually quite scared of birthdays, people buy you drinks and generally try to get you hammered which results in getting sick and hang overs. Neither of which is fun but both are quite inevitable when I drink in excess. Surprizingly though I not only impressed myself but everyone around as well! Not only did I not get sick but I managed to hold down more booze then ever!
4 or 5 shots of Jag
4 or 5 shots of Sourpuss
1 or 2 Sex on the Beach
1 Mystery Shot
2 or 3 Dirty Hookers
***note*** Exact numbers are impossible to recall, mostly cuz the night itself is impossible to recall...
It's been proven that Tequlia is the Crono Killer which leads me to saying Thank you to everyone for adhering to the NO TEQUILA rule =)
Needless to say that the next morning was pretty rough, but all was well within a couple hours.
Thank you again to everyone, this was an excellent birthday!
Saturday was spent running some errands with Leigh. We picked up a new fish for our tropical tank. It is a Farawella Catfish (or something like that). Basically it's a twig with fins hehe. He is so long and so skinny...we've named him Twiggy. It was quite upsetting to pass along the legendary name but it's probably for the best. He'll make better use of it then I will.
Later that day I went over to the venue for SCREAM and help set things up. It was a lot of work but the show came together and appeared to be a great success. There were a lot of great costumes there, Leigh definitly had one of the best and it's funny because it was so simple. My original costume sadly fell through, but it was probably for the best as we had to wait in line to get in and it was freezing. The original costume would not have fared well outside. I'm still waiting for one of the peices to come in the mail...seems like it's taking forever! Maybe I'll dress up in it for another show coming up. =)
SCREAM went pretty well overall. The sound was great the security was tight, people appeared to be having a great time. All in all it was a pretty decent night. But nothing spectacular. Preach was very dissapointing. His tracks sounded too similar and only broke out from that monotone sound a few times. His track selection (for the most part) was quite dull and uninspiring. It was like techno, slowed way way down. His tricks were alright, some were on and others were off. A couple left the tracks sounding like a giant trainwreck. His mixing was around the same, just average. Some were one, some were off. He could easily be outspun by several of our locals. Overall Preach gets a huge - Meh. Rank 1 on the other hand was very impressive. He was surpzingly hard and dark, very different from the last couple times I had heard him. Great track selection, mixing was bang on. Not much for tricks but that's ok, his tracks and mixing made up for that.
That's basically it for the weekend. It was a good one =)
Other random updates include -
1) I've started to play around with Reason some more and am slowly getting into it. I love going to the propellerheads site and listening / watching tracks that others have created. It's cool to hear how much potential Reason has.
2) We may be getting our Bearded Dragon a little earlier then expected. Someone posted online that they're moving and need to find a new home for their Dragon. $150 gets us the lizard and everything it needs. Not bad considering the start up price for these is over $400! We haven't fully decided yet but it's looking positive. We'll see what happens.
3) Essential Wednesday Halloween Bash is tonight. I'll be doing a House tag set with Adam, following us is f/64, Darian James, Alucard and then Dubbz. We carved some pumpkins for the club last night and are going early to decorate. I gotta find a costume though. Should a be fun night!
That's it for now! Current Mood: bored
