We will have a place to live when our lease is up on the apartment in July.  Yay!
Leaving for Lilies this afternoon!  Yay!

I have done so much sewing this past week to get ready for Lilies I think my fingers are going to fall off.  And I still have more stuff to work on while we're there.  I'll probably sew on the drive there just to squeeze in a little more time.  I'm thinking I can probably get the feet put on my fancy socks and hem the tops.  I'll need to buy cord there because I don't have anything good at home for it.  bleh!  Too much to do.  Wouldn't be so much pressure if this wasn't the freaking wedding garb.  At least I know the boy's stuff is taken care of.

I'll be offline till next Monday, so if anyone needs to get a hold of me call/text and I should be checking that once or twice each day.

I have not one but TWO spoiler filled things to say. First I went and saw Star Trek last night and it was made of awesome. Just in the previews:
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (which I'm going to watch)
G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra (which I'm going to watch SO HARD OMG YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA! Christopher Eccleston!!)
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (Need to see the first one first.)
Year One (Looks silly but has Jack Black AND Michael Cera. We'll probably go see one of the cheap showings)
Terminator Salvation (Totally. Robots! Exploding things EVERYWHERE!)

Ok now for the spoilers:
SpoilersCollapse )

I'm sure there are other things, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

The other spoilerish thing has been rolling around my head for a few days and is still irritating me.  We've been watching Dexter and just finished season two.  The events that really got to me are in the last few episodes of the season.

At least it's not the funny kind of rape. (Warning: Possible rape triggers)Collapse )
I'm not going to stop watching because of it, I think the rest of the good things they're doing are worth continuing, but I was just really disappointed.

I'm almost finished with the super cute dress ^_^ I had to let it hang over night to let the bias hang out and set, so all I need to do tonight is hem it and put the button loops on and a couple of buttons on the back. I'm planning on wearing it Wednesday, since it's work appropriate and I can show it off at practice that night. I ended up going with a kind of funky red pattern instead of a solid red, but it's awfully cute. I shoudl get out my pearls and go all June Cleaver :P
I did realize that I think I only have one pair of shoes that'll really go with it and I'm not sure where those are. I'll have to do some looking through my stuff.

I have not updated in forever. This is partly because I'm boring and mostly because I'm lazy.

I've finished my part of this round of egg donation last Monday. They had to pump me full of extra knock out drugs for the retrieval because I kicked the doctor in the head. I was pretty proud of that one. I'm a ninja even when I'm drugged!
They did the implanting last Friday so now we've got another few days to a week to find out if it worked. They got enough successful embryos this time to freeze two so we do get another try after this if we need, but here's hoping they aren't needed.

Robin Hood opened last night and I'm glad to be done working on that. I don't know if I'll be working on the next show (The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe). I had a pretty severe falling out with a couple of the costuming women and I won't be working on the next crew if they are. After having to listen through their lovely little chat about the Miss California debaucle and the gays shouldn't get married and "I have relatives who are homosexual and they're not evil but I don't think they should be able to marry" I removed myself from the situation before I removed some faces. I didn't think I'd be able to keep my cool in a face to face discussion about it so I wrote them a lovely little letter. I haven't heard anything about it, so I'm guessing they've written me off as a crazy liberal and are just as happy to not have me around spreading teh ghey to their poor little babies. If they wanted to talk about it I think I've finally cooled off enouh to do so, but I don't really see that happening.

I'm rewarding myself for finishing all that sewing for the show with... wait for it... MORE SEWING!! I'm making myself this super cute dress: http://www.butterick.com/item/B4790.htm?search=1952&page=1 I think it'll go well with this really adorable hat that Dianne gave me, so I'm probably going to do it in red with white trim. I also really love the look of the black and white version. I think it looks really classy so I might get some nicer fabric and do myself a fancier version.

I've started putting digital copies of books on my thumb drive to read in the down time at work. I've read the whole Twilight series, all eight of the Sookie Stackhouse books that are out so far, and I've started in on the Dresden Files. I'm skipping the first one because I've read it a couple of times and remember it well enough. If anyone has recommendations for stuff that I can put on a thumb drive to read I'd love to hear them.

I think Claire Rasmussen and Belle Heartley have been giving writing style lessons http://vandonovan.livejournal.com/1088311.html

What the shit what that?

I went back to the doctor yesterday morning. He told me that would be my last visit unless it really started bothering me again (Yay!), gave me a huge silly rubber band and a sheet of exercises (Why didn't he do that at my LAST visit, instead of prescribing going to PT I can't afford I don't know!), and told me I can stop wearing the aircast if I feel comfortable with it!
I don't feel secure enough to go totally unsupported, but I put the Ace wrap back on this morning instead of the cast so we'll see how that goes. I tossed the cast into my bag just in case I need to change out later in the day.
I've still been too much of a slacker to upload the wedding pics, but I'll try to get to some later today.

Went to the Calontir 25th anniversary Jubilee last weekend. It was fun and the site was beautiful, if a huge pain to get around in. Late 1800's buildings fail at accessibility!
My brother was sicksicksick all weekend and managed to give to to both our mom and me. I just caught the edge of it so I'm not too bad. Mom stayed home from work yesterday, but is going to try to go today, and the kid STILL hasn't gone to school. I think they should probably haul his sick ass to the doctor if he's not better in a day or two.

Christopher had Auditions for Robin Hood last night, so I should probably go ahead and start working on a basic costume plot. I can't put specific actors in yet, because I don't know them, but I can get what characters are in what scenes.

Dear revena and karenhealey,

Wedding went well. No horrible disasters and I should have some pics to post within a few days. We all met at the Barnes and Noble and my mom gave me my bouquet that she'd picked up for me. It was way bigger than I'd been expecting but it was pretty. It's hanging from the hook in front of our fireplace at the moment because I'm hoping it'll dry well.
After we finished the super quick ceremony we all went a few doors down to the McCormick and Schmick for dinner and it was soooooo gooooood. Nom nom nom!
His family wanted to go do some pictures so we went to a place nearby that had a good place for it, which worked out well because it turned out that he'd actually gotten us a room in the attached hotel for the night ^_^
The next day we wandered around the shopping center that's right there fora while (got him a nice pen and me a cute hat ^_^). Over all it was a really nice night and next day.

My ankle is oh so slowly healing. Attilla (Sports Med/PT/Massage therapy doctor friend) looked at it last night and was mightily impressed. He said that he'd never even heard or read of someone jacking up their ankle quite as well as I have.
So your ankle has 5 ligaments running down the outside and a group of 3 on the inside. One of the most common things to injure is one or more of the outside ones because generally ankle injuries are from rolling it under towards the inside. This stretches and stresses those outside tendons. Much more rare is to stretch out the 3 on the inside of the ankle. It's a lot harder to roll your ankle to the outside because of the bone structure and what not. Usually it will just break if there's enough stress to roll it all the way out.
I managed to mess up ALL of the outside AND ALL of the inside ligaments. He said it looks like my ankle started to roll out first but my muscles caught it only to roll it way the heck in.
There's also a big ole something or other that runs in a fan shape on the bottom of your foot from your heel out to the front of yout foot and when you take a step is basically stores up a little bit of energy that it then releases when you push off at the end of the step. Because I've been walking all oddly it hasn't really been releasing all the energy. So I've been cranking it up and cranking it up and cranking it up and not releasing this energy so that muscle was all tight and gnarley. He worked on it on and off for most of practice last night and it's much better now.

I have a set of exercises to do at home and I'm supposed to ice it more and we're going to get together once a week so he can work on it. I'm also going to make the orthopedic doctor actually stay and talk to me when I go see him on Tuesday. I'm sick of this paying $50 for a 4 minute visit where he doesn't really do anything.

ALSO I have the bestest boy evar. He just stopped by work and dropped off the new Puzzle Quest game for me. I win so hard! ^_^ ^_^ ^_^!!!!!!

Samson Oliver was born about 5pm yesterday and he's too cute for words. I'll post pics later. Everyone seems healthy and all that good stuff. The kid has more hair than I do! :P

I went back to the doctor again this morning for my ankle. He gave me an air splint and said I could stop using the Boot of Doom as long as my ankle felt up to it. That's exciting.
Less exciting is that he wants me to go see someone about physical therapy for it.

I kind of wish I had asked him exactly what's going on in my ankle. I find it odd that he's letting me stress it with walking and stuff, but still thinks it's serious enough for PT. It just seems like he's in such a hurry every time.
I also need to call the place they've talked to for me for PT and my insurance company and see how covered it is. My regular co-pay is $30 and my specialist co-pay is $50. I can't afford a whole bunch of sessions at that cost. I could swing one or two depending on how much they are, but that's a bunch of money on top of what I've already spent. And I've got yet another $50 appointment with the doctor in 3 weeks. Stupid injury.

Anyhoo... Off to the hospital for me. Visiting mom and baby again tonight.

I don't want babies why?

Oh yeah! THIS is why!
