MLP Personality Test Results!

Rainbow Dash

Seems like most people have gotten Rarity (based on the "average" line I saw on my chart?) Interesting...!

Okay, that was a fun AND very accurate quiz. I like the more thorough ones that provide detailed profiles and graphs.

I got Rainbow Dash, strongly...followed by very strong Applejack, and then heavy Twilight Sparkle. This much I totally agree on. Now, I would personally say that Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity should be next, in that order, but the quiz gave me Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy (like, no Fluttershy, which is not true.) I'm more Pinkie than Rarity, although I have a significant number of traits in common with all six.

Of course, it wasn't the easiest quiz by any means, being able to select just one response to each question; there were many to which I could have truthfully given many answers.

Full personality description:
If there's one thing you know you are, it's #1! You tend to be competitive by nature and love to show off your talents at every available moment, but that's often because you've put in a lot of practice to perfect your techniques and want to take pride in your effort. Because of this, you sometimes get a little too proud, fearing competing if you don't feel you can win and getting hotheaded if someone questions your capabilities. You hate losing.

Even though you may be a bit self-centered, you still care deeply for your friends and would stand up for them no matter what. You're deeply loyal to them, even if you may not always show it. Just because they're not as talented as you doesn't mean they're worthless, because you love them for who they are, although you may still joke around and give them a hard time — really, who doesn't like a laugh? You're incredibly brave and will be the first one to volunteer to venture off into the unknown or stand up against an enemy, perhaps letting your impulses get a hold of you before a rational plan is actually thought of.

While a lot of ponies may care how they look or concern themselves over what they're doing, you always want to present yourself in the coolest way possible. Whatever someone else is, your goal is to be 20% cooler. Fashion and style are a waste of time to you, because you know that's not what determines how cool a pony is. And if you think dying your hair all of the colors of the rainbow will make you 20% cooler, hey, guess what, because you don't care about appearances, it does.

Yeah, I usually get Ravenclaw, sometimes Gryffindor or Slytherin. ;) I'm not an easy one to sort.

...I get a half-dozen petition e-mails a day...and y'know what? I can support free tuition & minimum wage hikes IF I am retroactively reimbursed every penny paid in past tuition by my family and me, as well as every additional dollar any of us would've ever been given according to the new wages. So there. 8-)

Review of Timber Tops Luxury Cabin Rentals

Timber is tops in Tennessee!!

Oh, boy, did I ever have a ball falling for Viewtopia Falls!!! My parents, brother, two dogs, and I just returned from a Tennessee vacation, during which we had the extreme pleasure of staying in a Timber Tops cabin for the first time. After much thorough, extensive research of every rental unit in the area, it was clear to me that the absolutely perfect one for us was the cabin that had been christened Viewtopia Falls. What a fantastically clever and apt name. And it did indeed turn out to perfect in almost every way. In fact, I became so immediately attached to that beautiful, glorious cabin of ours, and miss it so much already that I can't wait to return and try to buy it for myself. ;) In case it isn't obvious, I never wanted to leave!

Every individual with whom we dealt on the phone and in the (also awesome) office was exceedingly kind, courteous, friendly, efficient, and helpful in giving us our information/instructions and directions. The hundreds of cabins managed by this company are scattered and vary a great deal; our particular one was located on a gorgeous mountaintop accessed by a long, winding road. All of the specific details regarding it and every other incredible-looking Timber Tops home can be easily looked up on their website, which I found to be the most excellent and user-friendly of all the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville area rental companies' sites. Its large, clear, detailed, high-quality photographs are readily visible, and searches for desired criteria are especially simple. Whatever requirement you have (in our case, pet-friendliness), there is probably a filter that will show you all those cabins meeting your need. Use that feature and/or the search tool to narrow down your choices. I've fallen utterly in love with numerous cabins just by looking at the images. Every detail about each home is neatly laid out right there on its page for you. Speaking for Viewtopia Falls, we got exactly what we saw and read about online, and then some!

We've done hotels, motels, trailers/RVs, and staying with relatives, but this has been our first time actually renting a house for a trip. I would eagerly look forward to using Timber Tops again in this area, as our cabin was definitely the best place we've ever stayed. (And we've been to some mighty fine places.) All of us were hugely impressed by the care taken to stock and decorate all corners of the well-appointed and furnished, yet rustic and woodsy home. Every which way one looks is something to admire, including in the 3.5 bathrooms. The kitchen lacked virtually nothing but a teapot and toaster, for which the toaster oven made up despite its slowness with toasting. Moving right in felt natural and easy. Touches of Christmas festivity were everywhere, including a huge tree covered in large ornaments from local holiday shops. For a place booked every day of the month except for the last four, it was so clean that even my mom was able to make herself right at home. (I always tend to rinse or wipe off silverware and glassware anyway, but mostly what I found were the typical spots left after drying. Only one glass needed a full washing.) My younger brother and I even played Candy Land for the first time here, as three old, fun board games are kept in the closet.

We did, however, compile a list of suggestions, which we submitted in the customer satisfaction survey, and hope may be able to make things even more awesome. This is one company that's well worth offering thoughtful advice to help become even greater. (My suggestions included a teapot, tissues, CD player[s]), pool room TV and temperature control, a third plush bathroom rug, and a retractable ladder or steps leading up to the loft.) Hopefully the problems we had with one of the pool room windows, electricity and TV in my bedroom, the electronic dartboard, and radio remotes can be swiftly resolved. I also had to suggest a bit of humane trapping, as near the end of our stay we found evidence of some visitors of the SMALL and furry variety in the kitchen (hole chewed in the bottom of a dog food bag) and my bathroom (some apparent droppings on a dirty towel underneath the sink.) Given the location, I'm sure that this can't help but happen frequently to homes in the area, and none of us were terribly surprised or bothered.

I could go on endlessly: the truly spectacular view, our very own waterfall right below the house (lovely to hear and watch!!), the luxuriant hot tub, the fact of it being both pet-friendly and indoor pool-inclusive, each of us getting our own bed- and bathroom (parents shared, of course), our amazing Jacuzzi bath tubs/showers, super-plush rugs in two of the bathrooms, all the amenities and supplies provided for us, the lovely kitchen island, dining table, cozy living room, three decks with two rocking chairs, a swing, two table sets, and a grill, the loft with the mini-fridge, billiard and corner game/card tables, and Xbox 360 (my little brother greatly appreciated that, and the fridge), the plentiful storage/closet space, laundry room, radios and TVs, cleaning equipment, lifting coffee tables (playing card deck inside one), the gas fireplace (just set the timer and a perfect fire lights for you!), the great, dog-approved furniture and floor coverings, the high, comfy beds with drawers beneath (they stick out, though, so watch your feet--but at night you'll enjoy plenty of peace and quiet), ironing board, etc., etc., etc. And let me NOT forget the beloved pool room, with its delightful swimming pool, foosball, black bears, trees, sitting area, life-size singing and dancing Santa Claus, and shower room. All of these things were most enormously pleasing!!

Our cabin won the seal of approval from our dogs, who would have been happy to stay much longer (maybe even, like me, forever…) It is a seriously pet-friendly home, with plenty of space to walk them outside (my Saluki insisted on walking around the circle of houses every time and taking me uphill each chance she got.) The front yard is lower than the front porch, but is also good for dogs. I have a retractable tie-out that stakes into the ground, but any type of tie-out would be ideal.

The pool is accessed via the staircase between the middle and lower decks--took me a bit to figure this out, lol. Kept thinking it would be behind one of the locked doors on the upper floors. Even in the chilly November weather, a quick run up those stairs and in through one of the lower bedrooms is totally bearable! (Couldn't resist getting my own bear joke in there; those are everywhere in the Smokies. ;) Memorize your numeric code, for quick and easy unlocking of both the front door and the pool room door.
We were the last in a ring of homes and had a long, steep driveway leading up to us. A very nice little partially fenced picnic and bench area in the center of the ring was easily walkable. These are the mountains, and thus there's a good deal of uphill walking and uneven terrain to be had, as well as those potentially perilous (but marvelous and exciting) roads I mentioned that necessitate skillful driving. It is perhaps not the best choice for those with a fear of heights!

A big thank-you to Timber Tops and to the cabin owners, for helping us have one of our all-time most memorable and special trips. That house truly is everything you could ever want!

I only wish we'd gotten to see the cabin's "very own black bear" one more time; he paid us a visit early on, but my camera doesn't like nighttime!

P.S. The "free night" deal, as well as all of their other little freebies and offers, ROCKED! What an exquisite company! Timber Tops is absolutely the most outstanding Tennessee rental property company in every respect; if I were coming back to the area, I would most definitely look to them first and eagerly anticipate returning to my beloved Viewtopia Falls, or staying in another of their gorgeous homes.
