We're back from the comy convention, and I have to say...IT F**KIN' ROCKED!
When we got there, me and my cousin didn't want to stand in line for a whole hour, so we left and got his cd player and my sweatshirt, and then we walked to the QFC and as I tried to find a bathroom, he bought a whole bag of marshmellows...don't ask me, I was busy looking for the can.
When we get back to the line my dad says that if paige can eat the whole bag before we get back he'd pay for his admission, well paige only ate about a quarter of the bag and he ended up paying my dad $2.25. Anyway, we get in and we go straight for the back room where Michael Turner (the main artist and creater of the Fathom series as well as other series) was suposed to be signing books. Well he was eating, but his collegues were there and we had them sign all the comics they were involved in, ours' were the first signatures given. So then we walked around and waited for Mike to finish eating, I felt like such a geek it was awsome!!! ^_^
We went and looked at all the other merchandise and I saw these really awsome T-shirts for $5-$10, and they were selling Squee shirts for $15. So shweet, but I'm So poor.
Anyway, Michael Turners back and we get back in line, and as we wait for a half an hour we see some cover art for sale, and about 6 or so books of original sketch art for the comics he's done, and my dad saw one he liked and his friend convinced him to ask the price...$6,500. AND, someone already bought it. Un-f**king-conthievable.
My dad shook Michael Turner's hand...ok not never-wash-hand-ever-again cool, but still cool.
We stopped at a buffet on the way home and that topped everything off. Best comy convention (out of the two) that I've ever been to.
School is so much fucking better with music. I can actually f**king concentrate, it's loud enough to cover up everyones whispering conversations, but quiet enough to hear the teacher, and it supplies supple background music.
We had to march in a veterans day parade after school, and sandra came over because her mom wasn't gonna come pick her up till after the parade, so we talked over a bowl of cereal, and then talked a couple hours more. I don't think I've had a convorsation with sandra that long that wasn't over the phone. Actually, I don't think we've even talked that long over the phone. Anyway, we marched throughout town playing nothing but the cadance and "God Bless America". Everone was sweating their asses off. But me and Poco coriagraphed this whole fight scene in the hallway with these 2 metal poles, it was so fuckin' awsome. He hid 'em in his suit bag thingy so we could fight with 'em later. We're so immature.
After we got back from marching around I went over to the teacher parent conferance thing in the gym and had some cookies and coffee. I hate coffee. After that, I went over to the highschool to walk around town with her because her sister had a play to do at the school. Holy shit my hands were freezing.
Even though I don't think I look good in my dad's beenie, I like it, and I'm gonna keep wearing it. My head is all warm and toasty ~_ (___) <--- Me in dad's beenie ^_^
Tomorrow we have a parade... forgive me for not exploding with excitement.
Today was ok, got to school on time for once this week. And I actually played one of our christmas songs fairly well in percussion today, which is surprising to me because I suck at playing marimba or anything resembling a piano. Hell, I have a hard time playing anything that requires the ability to read sheet music. After that we had an assembly to honor veterans, and though the teachers congradulated everyone for being very conciderate and well behaved for once, the assholes I was sitting with wern't very appriciative. "Gosh, this is making me depressed, they're playing taps, it's like someone died."... No comment.
Me and stan hung around the gym and helped put chairs and the gimungous tarp away.
Third period I was listening to my cd player, and right before the teacher gives us permission to listen to them, the batteries die. Coincidence, or coincidence?
Fourth period sucks. I hate history. I can never get any work done cause the dumbasses at my table can't shut up. I'm glad I was pulling a B before the end of last quarter, cause I'm definitly not pulling a B now.
My batteries sat long enough for me to listen to music home, but they die as soon as I reach the door, and I mean as I reach for the handle, so as soon as I touch it, the music stops. Not that that creeps me out, just what are the chances?
I drew the first comic I'm gonna put into the new zine. HAHA. If I knew how to save a scanned picture into my compy so that I could look at it, I would so put it in here. Too bad for you.
It's so awsome, we had our first meeting for the indie zine we're gonna start at school. I can't say who all it is, actually, I shouldn't be saying anything about it at all, but I don't think I know anyone from my school with an LJ except for Eric. Anyway, I'm doing comics, It's gonna be sweet. Sorry, but that's all I can say for now.
Anyway, this morning I slept in till 8:00...my alarm clock was set half an hour back in my attempt the night before to set it a half an hour forward to wake up earlier...yeah, apparently I was a little tired.
Oh, we tried to start our "study group" meeting in the library, but apparently you need an adviser to have one...as in a teacher, so they kicked us out 2 minutes after we signed in to the library. 2 of us actually signed out, and "Jesus L." wrote in the little box given: "this school needs less nazi librarians." They got ticked cause they couldn't read his signature. We're gonna start all our meetings in the library here on out.
Afterward we had a match of ultimate frisby, which was fun even though I think my team lost. Me, "Frenando", and timmy(who's not part of the zine) tried to see how many saltines we could eat in under a minute. Me and timmy tied with six, and six is alot I'll have you know, those fuckers dry your mouth out so bad.
My dad's B-day was today, he got 2 presents...a beenie and a Star Wars poster that says "Things I've learned from the Star Wars trilogy" and it lists sayings from the movie, which was pretty cool. But yeah, that was it besides a butt-load of cards. I felt kinda bad. Partly because he only got 2 presents, and partly because everyone kept telling me his beenie looked good on me. It's bad enough he only got 2 gifts, I didn't want to steal one from him. I kno birthdays arn't about presents and my dad was fine with it, but I felt bad anyway. This weekend has been long, it's felt like forever since last friday. I found another full batery for my cd player though, so I'll be prepared. Anyway, we're playing this awsome game my dad bought a while ago, so I'm gonna go.
I'm excited, I'm going to a meeting tomorrow for the play I've been asked to do, but the exciting part is I've been asked to be the backstage manager...MANAGER...for those of you non-theatre people, that meens I run the show back stage, as in they do as I say, they are MY slaves...yes, I agree that is awsome. Don't worry though, no wips or chains will be involved. I'm really, REALLY, REALLY excited. Anywho, I just got back from stan's, played GTA: San Andreas...awsome. freakin. game. and my dad won't let me borrow stan's X-box and Fable, that's bull crap. Like having to unhook and switch consoles is THAT big of a freakin' deal. *sigh* I kno. I'll live. I've got better things to do anyway. Well, at least untill this weekend...or better the one after that. I need to continue writing my story though, which I should be doing now...later.
