I present to you three of the (many) requested fics from that meme everyone's doing. Unfortunately I'm not doing them in, um, order they were requested or anything, just kind of... order of when I am ~inspired~.

jacob/tanya, for sharon, aka the first twilight fic I've ever written wtfCollapse )

draco/ginny, for austinCollapse )

sirius/lily, for crysCollapse )

Current Mood: tiredtired

WHOOO I need to go to bed but first, I finished my redandthewolf fic challenge! With 20 minutes before the deadline! Hahah I win.

Title: Not So Vile A Sin
Author: _thirty2flavors
Summary: Midway through seventh year, Lily has come to accept many things about James Potter. The one thing she cannot seem to accept is his arrogance.
Excerpt: On the whole, she had come to realize, he was not so bad, and they were even – strange as it was to say – something like friends.

He was, however, and as she had always expected, undeniably, irrevocably, pathetically, hopelessly in love – with himself.

Rating: PG
Warnings: Um...? I've got nothin'.
Word Count: 1557
Author's Note: I actually had 98% of this written since about the first week of the challenge. I had plans for a second scene and then it just was not cooperating and then I realized, hey, I can cut the second scene all together and finish it on time! ... Kind of! With 20 minutes to spare, EST! Also, yay for extensions. =)
Prompts: For redandthewolf's Tales of Slings, Arrows and Outrageous Fortune: spine, and
Self-love, my liege, is not so vile a sin
As self-neglecting.

-Henry V, 2. 4

It'll be up on UR tomorrow. Right now I need bed.
09 March 2008 @ 09:12 pm
If you have more than one Roomie on your flist, you've probably seen Hourglass Awards pimping seventy times, so I've cut it. Yay!Collapse )

In other news, I come bearing fic. Finally! I accomplished very little this weekend other than COMPLETELY screwing myself over academically by, you know, spending time on fic instead of school but I did manage to add like, 100 words to a fic I'd forgotten about and finish it! I can feel your excitement now!

Title: The Sun Will Come Out
(Also at livejournal if you prefer.)
Word Count: 313
Characters/Pairings: Lily/James, Sirius, Remus, Peter
Rating: G
Summary: Some days, Lily thinks there's no way they won't win.

And in other-other news, we have an assload of snow. We got 50 cms (1'8") this weekend. Fail.Collapse )

ETA: I hate snow so much I decided to change my layout. _thirty2flavors I am sort of enjoying this one, except a few things bother me (like having links on the side, and the really cluttered comment line). If anyone knows places to get pretty layouts for free/plus accounts, hook me up? Most of the pre-made lj ones are comically hideous.
You guys are probably like "wtf Kali stfu with these letter projects" but um sry letter_project is amazing because Dorea/Charlus is amazing and so is latine, and I have to pimp this one because piratesmile_x is doing all of the actual work, you know, hosting it and such.

Title: A Standing Inferiority Complex
Authors: _thirty2flavors (Victoire) and piratesmile_x (Teddy)
Characters/Pairings: Victoire/Teddy, plus mention of .... everyone, ever.
Rating: Eh, PG-13 so far.
Summary: In which Teddy Lupin and Victoire Weasley maneuver their way through N.E.W.T.s, ill-advised memory charms, anecdotes, and some truly atrocious French.
Excerpt: I half-expected to get to Hogwarts and have life suddenly turn into some dramatic affair full of dragons and chase scenes and heroic rescues. Maman didn't even go to Hogwarts and she was still a Triwizard Champion. It's not right. The Weasley-Potter clan is one full of inferiority complexes.

In other news, I've already written about 2 and a half pages of my redandthewolf Slings and Arrows challenge. Just need to finish. It is kind of just pointless fluff but... ...oh well. I have to ease myself back into the pairing, I guess, lirl.

I've also got this half-compiled fan-mix sitting here that I guess I might as well finish compiling. By that I mean all the files are on my old dinosaur of a computer and unless I want to sift through my iPod to get them off, I'll have to turn on that thing. It is Lily/James because they are hotties :| Also, this is the first fan-mix I've ever considered doing, and it is a weird experience. I feel like every day I get progressively dorkier.

I do need to work more on Silly Love Songs. Why is it that I can only write when there are looming deadlines? As soon as I finish my work and I think "oh, now I can work on ___", I suddenly lose all desire to work on ___.

Also, hey to all the kids I've added through that giant friending meme! Lol, friend memes are always so pathetic because no one ever replies to be my friend, I have to force them all into it. BAHAHAH.

Shit son, check out the tags on this entry. lirl

ETA -- LIRL! I noticed this a long time ago and for some reason it just occured to me to mention it here. A while ago I was searching Facebook for the UR group that I am too ashamed to join, lest kids from school realize what a loser I truly am and I found the group Comprehensive List of The Best Harry Potter Fanfiction, which apparently includes some stuff by me, First Draft by koonelli and A Keen Observer by callmepatsy.

Current Music: near to you; a fine frenzy
So the UR.org Christmas Fic Exchange posted its reveals, which means I have the liberty to shamelessly pimp what I wrote... lirl.

Title: Thirteen Steps to the End of the World
Rating: PG-13
Characters & Ships: James/Lily, Sirius, Remus, Peter
Prompt: "The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire." (for Satirise at UR.org).
Summary: Thirteen steps to the end of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot & Prongs.
Excerpt: “Oh, just the way the lot of you – you’re very – I don’t know – exclusive. You’re all four in your own little world and while most of the time I’m convinced it’s a world of utter chaos and madness and stupidity, at times it seems like a much better alternative to a world of war and doom and gloom.”

Huzzah! And kudos to christycorr for actually putting this gigantic migraine together.

ETA - This is old news in the Twilight fandom, but this macro will always be hilarious.Collapse )
This meme spawned a fic! Hurrah for memes! Or something.

Title: five people lily evans never fell in love with
Rating: Um, whatever, I'm gonna say PG13. My ratings are arbitrary, did you know? =)
Characters: Lily Evans and five characters who will remain quasi-suspenseful until you click the link.
Summary: Five people Lily Evans almost -- but never -- fell in love with, and why.
Notes: ZOMG SO MUCH FUN. Yay inksplotched!
05 November 2007 @ 05:44 pm
What should I be writing? Probably one of the fic exchange/challenge things I'm signed up for, or Silly Love Songs (which should've been updated like eons ago), or A Thoroughly Unremarkable Day (which I intended to update like eons ago) or, even better, one of the two major essays that I really, really need to start and have not, yet.

What am I writing? None of the above, naturally!

Title: Hollow
Rating: G right now. Or maybe PG for rampant angst. Guess it depends on how much of a pansy you are. Also I am like 99% sure no one gives a shit about ratings unless it's the difference between a PG-13 and an R/NC-17. Has anyone actually ever been like "OH IT IS PG-13 AND I AM TWELVE, I BETTER NOT READ IT"? Come on.
Characters: Various; any pairings will be canon, but I don't expect this will veer into the land of shipping too often.
Summary: Follow various characters on their pilgrimage to Godric's Hollow.
Excerpt: Thinking of them no longer causes an ache so deep he fears he might collapse into himself, and he finds himself worrying that the admirers that cropped up after the fall of Voldemort have faded into obscurity, leaving the Potters' grave forgotten and ignored.

Hollow - March 27, 1985

So partially in thanks to nest_of_spiders and partially just through, um, my miraculous brain (pft), Puzzle Pieces has three new not-quite-drabbles-not-quite-oneshots tagged on to it.

First, a oneshot:

Title: Delayed Reaction
Rating: PG for massive angst
Prompt: "Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it." - Dumbledore in GOF (If I were Chris I'm sure I could give you the chapter number too.)
Excerpt: He finds James' body first, and grief begins to work its way to the outermost edges of his consciousness, but he shoves it away valiantly. Any emotion is better than the unbearable impending heartbreak, and so he throws himself into anger and hatred instead.
Summary: Sirius represses his grief over the Potters for a very, very long time.

Dude my iPod just went from a very solemn Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again to a blasting (Phantom's music is quiet) Stayin' Alive by the BeeGees. The dangers of shuffle. *snort* Awesome.

Yes. These are all added to Puzzle Pieces, though they're longer, 300-700 words.

Title: First-Rate Intelligence:
Characters: Lily, James
Prompt: "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise." - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Summary: James is worried about the consequences of hiding.

Title: Something Old, Something New
Characters: James, Charlus
Prompt: Very loosely:"Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes." -Henry David Thoreau, Walden
Summary: The day before he goes to Hogwarts, James inherits an heirloom.

Title: Purveyors of Aids
Characters: Remus, Fred, George
Summary: Remus thinks about his favorite students.

Current Music: wishing you were somehow STAYIN' ALIVE
09 April 2007 @ 05:34 pm
Yes, you read the subject line correctly. Silly Love Songs has been UPDATED, whooo, with the elusive Chapter 18.

Silly Love Songs - Chapter 18 - Futures! In which Lily has a nightmare, Remus is depressed, there is scandal within the Ministry and James has his hair chewed on by an owl.

HUZZAH. Give me feedback because this chapter was a bitch to write, and also sort of different than usual. Hmmm. =)

Yaay. too bad it took like half a year *cough*

09 April 2007 @ 02:55 pm
Title: Push Off
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Characters: Lily, James, implications of Sirius, Remus & Peter
Prompt: Day 7, nest_of_spiders

You're absolutely reckless, the lot of you!Collapse )
02 April 2007 @ 06:31 pm
Title: Trust Me
Word count: 767
Characters: Lily, James
Prompt Number: Two - Anti-Gravity Mist.
For nest_of_spiders

Trust MeCollapse )
18 March 2007 @ 05:25 pm
So yes. Welcome to the post of DELETED STUFF. Hurrah!

Firstly, a scene from Silly Love Songs that is so ancient and so deleted that I'd forgotten I'd ever written. Why was it deleted? Well, for one thing, when you read it, it should speak for itself (see: terrible style and content). I can't remember exactly where it was situated, but evidently somewhere after James and Anna start going out.

Anyway, it gives you a little insight into James' motivation -- but not really useful information, because the story's now gone in an entirely different direction and his motivations are not the same anymore. Or something. I don't know, but it's pretty hilarious. Check out how lame he is in the end, there.

Deleted scene from Silly Love SongsCollapse )

And, simply because we're on the topic of deleted scenes, I initially tried taking the end of Truce somewhere else, but it didn't really work out, and I had to go back and play around with it. I still like bits of this version, but I sort of wrote myself into a corner, and when I went back and tried it with angry!Lily, it seemed to work out much nicer. =)

Alternate ending for Truce (unfinished)Collapse )

Wasn't that fascinating.

18 March 2007 @ 01:12 am
It's finished! Whooooo the first complete non-oneshot I've written in like, a zillion years.

Truce, Chapter 4
Summary: In the face of Lily and James' strengthening relationship, Sirius and Lily realize they have no choice but to make amends.
In this chapter: Sirius finds Lily. They finally reach an understanding.
Previous chapters: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3

There is, as I mentioned the possibility of an "epilogue" -- for lack of a better word -- but I'm still unsure as to whether I ought to write it or not. As one reviewer pointed out, it isn't particularly neccessary; you know that in the end they get along. I think the main reason I'm inclined to write it is simply because Truce has been so much fun to write, and I have grown quite fond of Sirius and Lily.

Anyway, tell me what you think. It's a bit of a cheesy end, perhaps, but... well. It had to happen. =)

As a matter of interest, I was searching for the latest chapter of Silly Love Songs (still in the works, I'm afraid) and ended up finding a scene I had completely forgotten I'd ever written, and that I later scrapped entirely. It's old -- obviously, or I'd remember it -- and not particularly well written, but I think I might put it up here just for interest's sake. What say you?

16 March 2007 @ 02:37 am
I've actually got about fifty billion things floating around in my head I'd like to write. Strange. Too bad none of them are poetry or applicable to the huge poetry anthology I've got due in a week.

Ah, well.

Anyway, here's one that's perhaps the most fun to write:

Truce, Chapter 3
Summary: In the face of Lily and James' strengthening relationship, Sirius and Lily realize they have no choice but to make amends.
In this chapter: Things go awry on Sirius and Lily's "date". Remus returns as the voice of reason.
Excerpt: “What? I’m being honest, none of that ‘oh, I’m doing lovely, thank you, and how are the kids?’ crap. I also know it’s exactly how you would answer, were you to take a break from being a bleeding heart humanitarian and answer honestly.”
Previously:Chapter One, Chapter Two

I know it's short. Sorry man. It was a good place to stop.

Reviews are awesome.

26 February 2007 @ 03:56 pm
This has been brewing for a little while -- since before Truce, in any case, I told you I was on a bit of a Sirius-and-Lily kick. Anyhow, I like it, more or less. It's been a long time coming.

Title: Valedictory
Rating: Um, I put PG-13. They swear, like, twice. Omgz.
Characters: Lily, Sirius, James, baby!Harry.
Summary: The night before the Fidelius Charm is performed, Lily and James have the dubious task of saying good-bye to those they will not see. Sirius is the last to leave.
Excerpt: It isn’t that she doubts James’ decision, or even that she doubts Peter. James has assured her time and time again that this is their best plan, their only plan, that they’ll be fine, and the part of her with the half-filled glass has always agreed. Of course they will be. They always have been.

Standing in her foyer with her baby on her hip, her husband at her side and Sirius in front of her, though, she feels different. Her stomach is in knots, her palms are sweaty and she is even closer to tears now than she was when she’d given Remus a farewell hug twenty minutes earlier.

Er. Enjoy?

Current Music: goodbye my lover in my head. hahahah.
21 February 2007 @ 06:33 pm
Title: Truce, Chapter 2
Summary: Lily and Sirius decide, reluctantly, that they are left with no choice but to get to know each other, and maybe even be friends.
In this chapter: Remus psychoanalyses Sirius' disdain for Lily. Sadie questions Lily's logic. The date -- that isn't a date -- begins.
Excerpt: “Are you kidding? It won’t be that bad? I have condemned myself to hours with the bloody devil herself. It’s like taking McGonagall on a date. It’s like taking Pince on a date. For that matter, it’s like taking you on a date. And it isn’t a date, anyway. Stop using that word. ‘Date’ implies some kind of romantic interest – or any interest, really.”
Link to chapter one.

Time to write some limericks. Ew.

15 February 2007 @ 05:23 pm
Yeah the subject line pretty much says it all.

Title: Truce, Chapter 1
Rating: I'm gonna go with PG-13, because it'll probably make it there. And I think I said "sex" once, that's pretty much good enough to make it PG-13 (/stab at American movie ratings).
Summary: Given Lily and James' strengthening relationship, Lily and Sirius realize they are going to have to conquer their general disdain for each other in order to make everyone's lives easier.
Excerpt: An entire Saturday in Hogsmeade with his mate’s girl was not exactly Sirius’ ideal weekend. Besides that, his mate’s girl was Lily Evans and that in and of itself made the whole situation unappealing.

Yay. =)

12 December 2006 @ 03:13 am
So over at UR's fanart section, Pamela drew a pretty little picture and said, and I quote, but the picture is absolutely perfect to wrie a short story about so if anyone feels inspired to....

Having had an inexplicable urge to write some otherwise mindless drabble fun, I took her up on the offer. Yay.

Title: Kiss'er Once For Me
Rating: G, man.
Summary: Is it really neccessary? Look at the picture, man, that is a summary in itself.
Excerpt: “You think it’s very funny, do you, having enchanted snowmen – six enchanted snowmen – pelt people with snowballs the instant they walk out the door? The first years can’t even – they’re bigger than the first years, Potter, the snowmen are bigger than the students, they haven’t a hope. You find this funny?”

“That does sound rather funny, yeah,” he admitted, smiling amusedly.

It is by no means the best thign I've ever written. ...But ah well. =)

Current Music: holly jolly christmas ; the format!
30 October 2006 @ 04:00 am
Yay I wrote something! Huzzah for everyone who tried to inspire me. I will have you know that I wrote the whole thing to The Sacrifice, and Lexi gave me the basic idea here, so you all are winners! Yay.

Title: Trick or Treat
Rating: Pg-13. Um, people swear once or twice.
Summary: Halloween is by far Remus' least favorite holiday.
Excerpt:James rummages around in his trunk and produces a black cloak a size too large. He shoves one arm through, and struggles to pull the rest over his head, explaining. “Mum always packs me this incase my other cloak’s not warm enough. Says I’ll ‘grow into it’.” He rolls his eyes, pulls the hood up over his head and walks around the room as smoothly as he can manage at the age of thirteen. “See? I’m a Dementor!”

The formatting is a little wonky, I apologize. But yay, in time for Halloween!

Well, I did promise you all I'd post here when I uploaded something new.

(Yeah, and I know you'd all be absolutely CRUSHED if I fell through on that one.)

So, I have!

Title: Sanctuary
Genre: One-shot. I don't know how to categorize it, so I'm just going to stick with 'general'.
Rating: Eh. G, PG, nothing spicy.
Words: About 1,500, including the author's notes.
Summary: Possibly the one thing James misses most about his parents is the ability to crawl into their bed when he's had a nightmare. With the war raging and life becoming an increasingly dreary affair, he longs for that small safe place.
Excerpt: He finds himself wishing he still had that nook to crawl into, a warm, reassuring recess somewhere in the world, where good was all-encompassing and evil was nothing more than a myth, a nightmare. It would be, he thinks, much more useful nowadays. As he stands there, staring down at the perfectly smoothed sheets, he wishes desperately and unapologetically that he was four again, terrified by nothing more than an inexistent worry, a figment of his imagination.

(a fake lj cut?! what madness.)

So.. yes. Feedback is love.
