I was thoroughly entertained. I'm glad this show is back, it was the one I was most excited for this season and it didn't disappoint.
As it turns out my favourite Ted is douchebag-Ted-makes-an-ass-of-himself, so Ted's plotline this episode really delivered for me. NOTHING QUITE LIKE LAUGHING AT TED. I've come to the conclusion that I really like Ted, in this weird sort of way. I don't think you're really supposed to like Ted all that much, and that's what I like about him. He's just kind of a pretentious douche who makes an ass of himself all the time, and I think that's how you're supposed to take it.
What I found interesting was that Barney/Robin is one of those ships I've always been sort of ambivalent towards -- I like it inasmuch as it was inoffensive, but I was never really too bothered by how they ended up. But I have to say I think this was the first episode where I was legitimately entertained by them as a couple. I mean okay it's the first episode they've actually BEEN a couple, but I like that in their first episode together it just emphasized how bamf and awesome they are. I probably ship it more now than I did at the end of last season, so well played, writers. "Or... or..."
Also lol Gremlins.
Needs moar Marshall, though. I love Marshall.
And now I'm waiting the half hour for Big Bang Theory to start, and rather than suffer through Two and a Half Men I flipped around to see what else was on. Behold! Law and Order: UK! I love finding random shows I know from LJ on TV, it's like when I stumbled on Blackpool while looking for The Office. I really have zero interest in Law and Order: Anywhere, but I will watch Freema be bamf for half an hour. ...Except it's been like 15 minutes already and she has not appeared. I don't approve.
