shameless advertising so maybe some other people will play this and talk to me about it
fyi the walking dead game is half off on steam today

so if you enjoy puzzle-y decision-based games with a+ character development and story, you should go buy it. obviously there is zombie killing involved but it's not like a shooter game or anything where the main goal is killing things, it's mostly solving puzzles and interacting with the AI characters and stuff

I have enjoyed video games in the past but not the same way I enjoyed this stupid game, which was on a very emotionally-invested level.

look this is clementine and lee and it is the most adorable orphan/convicted killer relationship you ever did see

Hmm, I'm strongly tempted. I love adventure games, and greatly enjoyed Tales of Monkey Island which was from the same company that made The Walking Dead. I haven't seen the series, but I reckon that doesn't matter?
Right now I'm playing another adventure game called The Cave. Also involves fun puzzle-solving, is darkly humorous and very atmospheric.

Hmm, apparently it's not recommended for Intel graphics cards :( Might grab it off the Internet then instead, eventually.

BTW, I want to contribute Tenth Doctor/Tenth Doctor-era stuff for this month at who_at_50. Is there anything you'd fancy? Can be anything: art, fic, graphics, music etc.

Nah, I haven't read the comics or watched the show either, but they're not particularly related I think, beyond taking place in a zombie apocalypse. I think there's one character from the show and one very minor character from the comics who have small roles in the game, but you don't need to know anything.

Ooo I watched the trailer for the Cave and thought about buying it. I should probably stop buying video games in my unemployment, but then my unemployment leads to lots of free time, so it feeds itself, lol.

HMMMMM I dunno! I'll think about!

lol I don't know enough about your brothers to know if they'd like it or be bored, but I thought the story was really good and I like puzzle-y games even if it was never particularly challenging.

I don't know if they would have it either I have no idea what their taste is anymore

They have Portal 2 and I was trying to play that a few weeks ago, but they started watching me and trying to play through me like "NO YOU GO THAT WAY" "AH YOU PRESS SPACE TO JUMP GET IT TOGETHER" "STUPID DON'T EXPLORE THAT ROOM, YOU JUST GO STRAIGHT. GOD" I got five minutes into level one and they ruined the whole thing

that's too bad, Portal is a lot of fun as well though it's heavy on the puzzle whereas TWD is heavier on the story/character interaction stuff. But Portal's no fun if someone is telling you how to play pfft.

Even though it pretty much destroyed me in parts.

I played episodes 1-4 in like five days, and then took a week-long break because the end of episode 4 stressed me out so much.
