Wow, you leave for a year, and when you come back the whole place looks different.

*knock, knock* Hi everyone!

I'm mostly posting in case any Buffy/Spike fans of Sinister Attraction were wondering what happened to the site. I didn't have the auto-renew option turned on and must have missed the e-mail about the domain name expiring as well. Anyway, the site is back online and both Sinister Attraction and Poetic Attraction are working again.

I hope you guys have a great Hanukkah, Christmas, holiday, etc. with your friends and family!

Hooray!

After months of not knowing what to do, I finally gave in and bought a new domain and got Sinister Attraction and Poetic Attraction back up online, virus free and fully intact (minus a couple of things like the gallery, message board, and the better layouts)!

The new URL is http://www.sinister-attraction.net

Poetic Attraction is online at http://www.sinister-attraction.net/poetic

Thanks to my Spuffy friends who kept asking and kept pestering me to not forget about these sites. I'm hoping to keep the sites as-is so that readers, both new and old, can come back to enjoy these stories over and over again.

Sinister Attraction is offline ATM because my STUPID hosts changed the DNS nameservers back to theirs rather than keeping them the way they are with my current host.

I e-mailed them and I hope the site will be back up shortly.

OK, so....Sinister Attraction is running now. However! I think there is a virus on it again! GRRRRRRR

So, this weekend I am going to take the entire site down and delete all the pages, give them a virus sweep, and then re-upload them back onto the site. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to do anymore. If that does work, I am going to try and complete what stories I can finish up on the site. I think I have the places where I can find most of them thanks to cordykitten.

And while the files for Poetic Attraction are uploaded, the main page is not...so I will try to whip up something (hopefully the original layout page) so you all can navigate through the Wuffy goodness.

We'll see. But I feel horrible for not doing a better job keeping this site online. It has a bunch of stories that are probably very hard to find, so my goal is to keep it up as long as I possibly can.

I kinda miss the good ol' Spuffy days

Yeah, so...I know Sinister Attraction is down.

And um...I don't know if it's worth it to get it back online TBH. There are still viruses, there are other issues, and I don't know how to fix it.

So, after working out some details, charly2004 and I are going to The Hub! AND we're going the Thursday before the con to see David Tennant in Love's Labors Lost (which is a Shakespeare play I know absolutely nothing about...other than that it was used in a S3 DW episode). O.M.F.G! Torchwood actors - JOHN! - AND David Tennant on stage?!

It's going to be THE MOST incredible weekend of 2008!

EEEEE! New SPN! 3x14 Running commentary behind the cut!Collapse )

OK! Well...I'm going to start organizing things for finals and my trip, so I don't know how much I will be around on LJ other than the comm...Finals start on Monday and I have to have some major study time this weekend.

OK, so much for staying off LJ for the weekend! I have spent 4+ hours studying, so I am taking a break to post that Sinister Attraction is FINALLY virus free and is in fully working order!

I have a super-old layout up right now...But all 1700+ stories are up! I'm still incredibly proud of this site - I learned SO much about web design, fandom, writing, archiving, artwork, you name it. The site is one of the oldest Spuffy sites in existence with stories that are no doubt becoming increasingly harder to find. So go. Read. Savor the wonderfulness of Spuffy classic stories.

Over Spring Break I will add the browse by season and status options back to the archive page...and probably clean up all the dead links and unnecessary forms. However, I am not removing stories from the site - I don't want to get 100 e-mails asking me to take down this or that. Unless the author has turned the story into an original work of fiction in e-book/published form that legally requires any other versions deleted, the archive is remaining AS IS. Sorry, I know that might tick some authors off, but that's how I'm doing this...because it's been over 2 years since I last updated and wasn't even planning on doing as much as I am...so I'm not removing them now.

Finally, (and I'm actually gonna copy what BSD is currently doing,) my last update will be to add any remaining chapters from unfinished stories in the archive. Below the cut is a list of all of the unfinished stories in the archive. If any of these stories are yours, or you know that they are finished and where I can find them, any information you have would be extremely helpful. I'd love to get as many of these stories in their completed (or as close to completion as possible) version up on the site before I really do close the door on SA. Some I know have been unfinished since before I stopped updating SA, some I know where I can possibly find...but I'd appreciate any help!

Stories listed behind the cut by titleCollapse )

SA will remain up for as many years as possible. I truly believe in not letting this site disappear into cyberspace like so many other amazing Spuffy sites have.
