Sinister/Poetic Attraction back online

Wow, you leave for a year, and when you come back the whole place looks different.

*knock, knock* Hi everyone!

I'm mostly posting in case any Buffy/Spike fans of Sinister Attraction were wondering what happened to the site. I didn't have the auto-renew option turned on and must have missed the e-mail about the domain name expiring as well. Anyway, the site is back online and both Sinister Attraction and Poetic Attraction are working again.

I hope you guys have a great Hanukkah, Christmas, holiday, etc. with your friends and family!

Rally to Restore Sanity And/Or Fear

It was amazing. It was hilarious, full of surprises (OZZY!), serious and touching in parts, ridiculous at others, and just...WOW. 150,000+ 200,000 people all together. I can't believe they pulled it off! And well! I thought it was just crazy wonderful and am so happy I got to be a part of it in person.

My friend and I got to the Mall at 8 AM and there was already a shit ton of people there. The metro was a MESS already! We were not in the 1st section closest to the stage, but the second section. Everyone was pissed off b/c they put a jumbotron RIGHT in front of the central viewpoint, so even though they would have been far away, we really couldn't even see the stage. Oh well. We were there and we had a hell of a lot better position than the others that were by the Washington Monument - because from what I heard, our "crowd" went from one end to the complete other side of the Mall.

I know I'm leaving things out and that the photos don't exactly match up or stay in order. The Sanity awards, the Feardom awards, the videos, probably more people, but I'm still taking it all in I think. It was a great day.

Now I'm going to crawl into bed and not move until tomorrow morning. I only got 3 hours of sleep and have been up since 6 AM. I'm exhausted!

Anyone want to go to Creation's Chicago SPN con?

Because I don't think that shannenb and I are going to go. And we have GREAT seats, like D22 or somewhere around there, center aisle 4th row seats.

We've been talking it for a couple of days now and we're pretty much in agreement that financially it just won't work out. It's a month earlier than usual, at a more expensive hotel, and flights are hella expensive right now. I have my Dublin trip and DragonCon coming up and she has expenses too, so we're just thinking it's safer if we sell our tickets. And honestly, I am not feeling the SPN love these days. Maybe 6th season will change my mind - maybe it won't - but right now I would rather have the money to blow at DragonCon and get Sean The Bod Maher to sign my Firefly painting haha

I think we're going to put them on e-bay and list them in the appropriate communities, but I figured I would post here to see if anyone was thinking about going to Chicago or knew any friends who were thinking about it and wanted a great seat since all of the gold tickets are sold out.

I don't know about Shannen, but I am willing to sell mine at the price we got it for at the convention, which I believe was $439. Can someone who bought their ticket for this year at last year's con remember the price when we got it that weekend? I think we got $50 off the ticket price but I can't remember for sure and I can't find any confirmation they sent me.

Right now they have Jared, Misha, Ghostfacers, and Richard. But they are known for adding a ton of guests right up to the very day of the con. I'm sure that their focus will now be on Chicago since LA and NJ are done.

Let me know if anyone is interested!

Monday in Philly, Part 2 AKA CONE BONE

Part 2. AKA the Conan O'Brien post of awesomeness! This post is public since it is about Conan and I might link to it at a comm, so I've added a watermark to the photos just in case. Oh, and I'm sorry so many of my photos suck. My new camera is barely a month old and this is the first time I've seriously used it, so I'm still getting used to the settings.

I'm probably going to upload some video once I get home. There were some things too funny NOT to share!

Yay! It's finished! Avatar Animated Moodtheme

So, I was getting a bit tired of my old season 1 SPN theme, which is why I haven't really been including moods for a few months now, and figured it was time for a change. And it took forever, but I finally finished my animated mood theme from Avatar!

If anyone is interested in using this for your own LJ, you can download it from:

Sinister and Poetic Attraction

Hooray!

After months of not knowing what to do, I finally gave in and bought a new domain and got Sinister Attraction and Poetic Attraction back up online, virus free and fully intact (minus a couple of things like the gallery, message board, and the better layouts)!

The new URL is http://www.sinister-attraction.net

Poetic Attraction is online at http://www.sinister-attraction.net/poetic

Thanks to my Spuffy friends who kept asking and kept pestering me to not forget about these sites. I'm hoping to keep the sites as-is so that readers, both new and old, can come back to enjoy these stories over and over again.

A few more photos for the end of the day

Hooray! Hahaha, well, it only took us 3 years to have a successfully non-wanky con, you guys! YAY! Sure there will always be people you can't please 100% of the time, but there were no cringe-worthy questions, no prying into personal business too much, and today ran on time and even was a bit ahead of schedule until the autographs and adding Julie.

So, here are the rest of my J2 photos for you all. You know me, I don't take too many photos but I wanted to share what I did take for everyone!

Do you guys like having the thumbnails better? Hopefully it's not too annoying. I figured it'll load faster for everyone that way!

Good night! Tomorrow we're going to the art institute! YAY!

Breakfast and J2 Panel Chicago 2009

This was all typed up SUPER fast so I'm sorry if there are any typos/errors/completely wrong info. I'll come back and fix it later tonight!

The breakfast was a lot of fun! The boys came out at 9:00 and stayed for about a half hour and they were funny! They spoke a lot about Changing Channels and the last episode that just aired. They spoke about working with some of the guest stars. They joked about getting new mopeds and that the ones that they had had before were for 13 years and under and 120 pounds and under, so they have grown up ones now.

They ended with telling a story about an upcoming episode where Samantha Ferris (OMG sorry, I had Smith up herer at first! Wrong Sam!) almost killing them with a prop gun loaded with blanks and how it got jammed and she was waving it around in front of them as she panicked over what was wrong, and then freaked out over THEM panicking. Jared kept playing with the microphone again - and it broke apart in the middle. Every time he touched the mic it would have bad static, so Jensen had to slap his hands away. A few people asked questions, and it was very chill.

2nd Part of Saturday ChicagoCon 2009

We took a break before the other two panels for the day, and Shannen and I sat in on the auction and snarked, which we ALWAYS do. I boo-ed at Twilight, but Gary heard some other guy sitting like 25 rows away, and called him on it, and not me hahaa.

Jim was up next, and he spoke a lot about having to deal with Bobby now being in the wheelchair, joked that he was lazy and that's why he did it. He spoke about his book and how it has helped others and was a bigger deal than he thought it would be. And he spoke some about Harper's Island and something he just finished with John Wayne's grandson, who happens to live across the street from him. He joked around a lot, wore a t-shirt that said "kill them all and let God sort it out" or something. I think it's interesting how interested and serious he is about Bobby being in a wheelchair, and how it brings a "reality" to it as he called it. Misha broke out into his panel and asked why Jim couldn't get dressed up and "at least wear a tie" since Misha was all formally dressed up. It was hilarious!

Then came Misha. Oh, what a guy. Hilarious, sarcastic and dry as hell, and witty, and just...fucks with everyone up there. He never even really answers any questions, he just diverts them and says whatever he wants to say. He insulted Australia and the people down there and how he was pissed he didn't get to see any kangaroos, joking completely of course, and spoke some about how boring it was being an intern in the White House. He started his panel talking about the bikini briefs story, and then later on during his panel Richard came out and they bitched about the pumpkin bikini brief story hahaha and together, they set the story straight. It was too funny! He spoke about yogurt and so many random, crazy things. He seems interested in how people become fans of things and do stuff like this and was asking us questions about it. (I swear, he's going to wind up writing a thesis about it hahaha) and mentioned a couple of the pranks that they've done and also mentioned that his first day of Cub Scouts he went with long, flowing platinum blonde hair and painted fingernails hahaha

After that we had photo ops. I had a duo of Misha and Jim, and it was super rushed. We'll get them back tomorrow afternoon.

Sorry this is so short and choppy, but that's all I can remember for the moment!

I think I really need to invest in a new camera in 2010, because there is this one line in ALL of my photos! Like, the lens is broken or something, so they all look like that with this line down the center of them.

Desert party is the last thing for tonight and then it's time for the boys!
