December 31st, 2009

I can't decide if this was a good year or not. A lot of great things happened, and also a lot of bad. Sometimes the good and the bad were the same thing. A year of extremes, so let's call it even.

I did see a lot more new films this year than the last few years. In (very) roughly ranked order:
  1. Up (3D)
  2. Fantastic Mr. Fox
  3. The Watchmen (IMAX)
  4. Coraline (3D)
  5. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (partly 3D, IMAX)
  6. Where the Wild Things Are
  7. Star Trek
  8. Avatar (3D)
  9. The Invention of Lying
  10. Blind Side
  11. Terminator: Salvation
  12. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (on DVD)
Not only more, but not as many animated and sequels (though still a fair amount). I also saw several direct-to-DVD super hero cartoons: Wonder WomanHulk Vs., and Green Lantern: First Flight. Oh, and GI Joe: Resolute.

I also have a new music-related idea for this blog that I will likely implement quite soon. And my top movies of the '00s list is coming. I was just waiting for the decade to end first.

And tonight I head to a party at the Payne Mansion, which sounds like an S&M club. But it's actually just a mansion. Whee.
