Hi y'all. So, a two week hiatus and not one of you thought to check on me? For shame! You'd think all my hard work doing posts a day late when I get to work was going unnoticed.

But not today my friends. Today I'm going to post you all kinds of good UK music and I'm going to do it long before goethe_re_scape ever gets close to posting his. And it's all because I'm feeling guilty.

Let's begin with a KEXP Song of the Day that I really got into recently. The album has reviewed well and all I need to do now is get my hands on a copy. The sound is kind of spacey, rolling, indiepop that makes me smile every time. Apparently they didn't use computers either, which means there was some serious production going on here. And you know how I love production...

Maps - To The Sky

From there I'd like to segue into my usual indie-electro that I've been forcing on you guys for the past 6 months or so. The Black Ghosts released a 30 minute DJ mix via their MySpace and I've uploaded it here in the hopes that you guys will enjoy it as much as I did.

The Black Ghosts - 30 Minute Mix

Rather than describe the music I thought I'd just post the track listing:

The Black Ghosts - 30 Minute Mix May 2007

Harco Pront “Night”
Emperor Machine “Rimramramrim”
Clinic “The Second Line”
Soul Savers “Rumble Fish” (Simian Mix)
Supercollider “Darn Cold Way Of Loving”
Electrelane “The Valleys”
The Jonzun Crew” “Space Is The Place”
Good Books “Leni (Crystal Castles Mix)
Heaven And Earth “Feel The Spirit”
The Firebirds “Soul Sonata”
Blowfly “Sesame Street”
Silver Apples “Lovefingers”
Gianfranco Reverberi “Nel Cimitero Di Tucson”
Metronomy “Trick Or Treatz”
Milton Hamilton “My Love Supreme”
101 Strings “Karma Sitar”
Can “Vitamin C” (Ghost 1 And Ghost 4 Edit)”
Zongamin “Spiral”
Brian Eno “Sky Saw”
Frankie Valli “Beggin” (Pilooski Edit)
The Whip “Muzzle #1″ (The Black Ghosts Mix)
Beck “Sexx Laws” (The Wiseguys Mix)
The Black Ghosts “Amyway You Choose To Give It” (Fake Blood Mix)
The Dykeenies “New Ideas” (The Black Ghosts Mix)

For me, the stand out track on the mix is the Fake Blood mix of Anyway You Choose to Give It. Amazing. If 30 minutes is too long for your taste then you should just grab that track here:

[Current Music |Le Tigre - After Dark (Diplo Remix) 2]

So sorry for posting on Friday morning two weeks in a row. I know it's not my day but I've been without internet at home 2 weeks in a row. I think it's a conspiracy, and I think you're involved.

Today I would like to post music that makes you cringe on Monday, but you can't get it loud enough on Friday. I have to be quick, because I'm "Working" but you should get the drift after you ive them a listen:

1.) Plastic Little - remix magic. Crass and irreverent.

Plastic Little - Get Close (King Honey Remix)

Plastic Little - Crambodia

Bonus - Plastic Little - Crambodia (Hot Chip Remix)

2.) Roxy Music Phones Remix - With the beats that hit.

Roxy Music - Editions of You (Phones Remix)

3.) Miss Odd Kid - East London indie grime girl, I plan on listening to this track on repeat from 16:30 - 17:00 this evening.

I was drunk when I got to work today. Very drunk.

As a matter of fact, my work 'fucked off' (left) at 2:00pm and went straight to the pub. Alysia and I have been there drinking for free for the last 6 hours and do you want to know something funny?

I'm sober right now.

At 10:00am this morning I crashed (creeeeeeeeashed) hard. I started shaking and lost my mind. I was worthless. I put my feet up and just bothered people for a couple of hours while I felt bad. I watched Youtube. I listened to music.

At about 3:00 I'd had 2 beers and felt worse than ever. Apparently what I needed was 6 bottles of Becks, two Belgian Pilsener, two single Jameson's (no ice), and one double Disarono (amaretto) on the rocks. Wow! It has cured me. I'm like the Virgin Mary, except if I was the Virgin Mary I'd rape you. Yah, You.

Sober. It's magic. You guys should follow the drinking key I've put forward to the letter and enjoy the spoils of soberness.

What have I done for you lately? Recently I've just gotten drunk and been belligerent, but that's something at least. I'm coming home to Alabama in one week so you might be without me for three weeks while we're sorting our Visas out. So, now is your last chance for a while to listen to some serked out tracks. Well, these tracks actually have nothing to do with me. Except that I've been trying to find local bands to check out recently and myspace has been my main window into U.K. artists.

So tonight I'm gonna aggregate some of the bands I've uncovered in my relentless myspace sifting. Hope you enjoy:

DEAD KIDS
I bet these guys are really good live. I bet they're off the chain. They're playing just down the street from me next week at a local pub. I'll be gone though. They remind me a little of The Unicorns, probably because of their noisy irreverence, but there's definitely something more there than just 'happy hardcore.' When I figure out what it is I'll let you know.

GoodBooks
GoodBooks remind me a little of Bloc Party. A poppy Bloc Party. I think this is a real find and I'm definitely going to check them out when they come through London next. This one is Alysia's favourite and as such requires special attention by those of you who like happy good things.

GoodBooks - Turn It Back (Direct Link)

679 Recordings - Remix
I stumbled across 679 Recordings remix website after checking out The Mystery Jets, and I found a remix of their Diamonds in the Dark track that blew me away. They've got another download available (Futureheads!) and they update frequently so make sure you check them out.

Thanks Y'all!

Grimace is a big, loving, fuzzy purple fellow who is Ronald McDonald's best friend. He's sure Ronald is the world's ultimate authority on everything. While Grimace loves all McDonald's foods, he's absolutely crazy about milkshakes. Grimace is very enthusiastic and eager to try new things. His joyous spirit helps everyone overlook the fact he's a little slow and clumsy sometimes.

So we went and saw The Decemberists last night. The show was incredible, Alysia almost died. She bought a poster and got it autographed by the entire band. It was by far the best show I've seen in years. The Workplay Theater's acoustics were insanely good, and the band/crowd seemed to have a good time.

So here are some samples from the show:
