Title: Untitled (Outside at Night)
Author: hikaru / _regarde
Archive: Please ask permission.
Feedback: If you so desire.
Rating: G
Character: Severus Snape
Disclaimer: They're all J. K. Rowling's, and I've got the feeling that she'd have my head for this.
Summary: Severus Snape takes a long walk and does some thinking.
Notes: Written for Academie, a Harry Potter RPG where I play Snape.  The game is AU, in the respect that it takes place in a comtemporary universe without magic.  We have incorporated the major bits of the new canon that came along with HBP, and thusly, this could be considered to have vague spoilers for HBP. I haven't mentioned anything specific, really, but if you've read the book, you will get a much deeper meaning. I still wouldn't recommend reading it if you've not finished HBP, however.  Ficlet written for the prompt "outside at night."
Word Length: 738, or thereabouts.

It would be fitting; the sky would open up and pour its troubles and its cares and its very distaste down on him. Collapse )

Characters: McGonagall, future Weasleys, and the Sorting Hat... err... Troll.
Summary: The Sorting Hat is replaced with a Star Wars favourite.
Notes: Written for hp100. For the crossover challenge.

"Attention!" McGonagall clapped loudly. "Due to a most unfortunate accident," she glared pointedly at a clump of red-haired Gryffindors, "we no longer have a Sorting Hat. Instead, we've a Sorting Troll."

Whispers engulfed the Hall. Trolls were dangerous! And smelly!

"This troll is not a typical troll. He's wise, gentle, and smaller than normal." McGonagall frowned sternly. "Now, let the Sorting begin! Aneshka, Rupam!"

An Indian girl approached a lumpy burlap sack, from which emerged a small, aged green fellow - the Sorting Troll.

"Ah, brave you are. Wise too you are." He waved his tiny hand. "Ahh, Ravenclaw, you are!"

Characters: Hagrid
Summary: A fate worse than death. Hagrid is expelled from Hogwarts.
Notes: Written for hp100.

Hagrid sighed. For a half-giant, he looked rather small and defeated. At his feet sat his broken wand, snapped by the Ministry for a crime he swore he didn't commit. Next to the wand was a crumpled piece of paper, a letter from the Headmaster confirming his expulsion. A great choking sob escaped his lips; he buried his head in his hands. He was alone in this world now. He had no friends to turn to, no family to love him, no one to tell him that he was still worth something. Life as Hagrid knew it was essentially over.

Word Count: 100
Characters: Neville, his gran
Summary: Neville gets some important results.
Notes: Written for hp100. For the OWL challenge.

Neville glanced about nervously. The long-awaited letter containing his O.W.L. results was sitting in front of him, unopened, begging to be read, and his gran was nowhere in sight. Even though he promised that she would see his results first, he knew that he wouldn't keep that promise. Gran would just compare him to his parents anyway. He needed these results more than his gran did. He was the student, he was the one who sat the exams, not her. He reached slowly out and drew the envelope closer to him. Neville gritted his teeth resolutely and pried the envelope open.
