Dark is the Night by Kelley York and Rowan Altwood

Dark is the Night by Kelley York and Rowan Altwood was excellent. James and William investigate the ghosts of their boarding school.

In Book 1, the protagonists are students; in Book 2, they're working adults. I liked that, it's actually pretty rare.

The story takes place in the 19th century and has the lovely language to go with it.

There's major m/m starting in Book 1. <3
