I'm happy to say that I'm halfway through the project. I've been doing this for 6 months. Now only another 6 months to go! To be honest, I didn't think I was going to last 6 days, considering I never finish what I start, and I also grow tired of things easily.

I slept a while today. I also went to the local farmer's market. I got a basket of these beautiful, tart cherries from Michigan. I also picked up a loaf of herb and cheese ciabatta bread and a cantaloupe. I must say, everything is simply divine. Tastes delicious, and it's all organic and local.

The heat in my apartment is making both John and I completely delirious. I guess we're making it necessary for us to go out as much as we can so we can get some fresh air.

I looked out of my living room window and noticed that the sky was swallowed up in this orangeish hue. It looked pretty, so I grabbed the camera. No editing has been done. It has been storming for quite a while now. The rain has subsided slightly. I still see lightning in the sky every few moments, and the thunder that strikes still gives me chills. The tornado sirens went off at least 3 different times and it sounded like really bad techno music. Apparently an earthquake reached Chicago around 1PM, but I didn't really feel anything. All I remember was hearing something outside fall to the ground creating a loud noise. I assume it had something to do with the earthquake, but maybe not.

Having moved here, I figured things would be better for me. While that I feel that they are, I'm kind of disappointed in what summer has been lately. I hardly get to see my friends because our schedules are constantly clashing. Everyone is working. Working, working, working. I'm waiting for the day when I can be with them all, together.

I was encouraged to send in an application to get a Burning Man scholarship ticket. I think I may just do that. It would be cool to go. I have always had an interest in going, and now that I've found a way to go for much cheaper instead of paying 300 bucks, I may just do that. It would be a good experience.

The only thing I will feel guilty about is leaving Anon by her lonesome. Wish I could take her with!

Has anyone been to Burning Man? Care to share your experience?

I called off of work today as I wasn't feeling well at all. It was worth it though because I had fun last night.

It's somewhat hard for me to relax. Instead of doing what I should've done (sleeping) I ended up cleaning the kitchen area and throwing out the trash. Clutter bothers me a lot. I like things to be neat and organized otherwise I lose things more often or that it basically drives me crazy. I think I get it from my mom. She is definitely a clean freak. No matter what hour of the day it is, she will get down on her knees and clean. She arranges the food in the cabinets and refrigerator on a regular basis, so much so that it is often hard to find what you're looking for. I don't think she ever has a time to relax at all. I hope this Mother's Day, she'll do just that.

John is on the south side today. I'm stuck here. Bored. Slightly tired. And sick. At least this pounding headache went away. And at least I don't have to go into work. Ahh, feels nice.

I wasn't supposed to go into work today, but they changed my schedule. Hate when that happens. John had things to do at the south side today, so I've been sitting here a few hours clipping coupons, cleaning, and straightening up. Gosh, this apartment feels so much better when it's not cluttered with papers and other junk. John rearranged the furniture so it would look more 'feng shui' by putting everything at an angle. It actually works out quite nicely.

We saw the play 'Ghosts of Treasure Island' yesterday and it was really good. Very entertaining and smart; added their own twist to the story. After that, we hopped on the train and picked up our free French style hot dogs from this French restaurant downtown for Fete du Travail. It was delicious! Especially when it was eaten with a cold, French beer. Mmm.

After that, we went back on the train and met up with JD and his girlfriend Wendy in Wrigleyville to watch the Blackhawks game. What an embarrassing game, my goodness. It hurts to even think about it. We had to get straight outta there after the second period was over.

Well, I have more things to attend to, and then work. Have a great day.

Life is going by way too fast. This project is only a reminder of that. I told myself that when I moved here, I was going to take full opprotunity of things going on like attending events and being more active. I feel as if I am doing that, but I'm simply not doing enough.

The light in our apartment looks its best when the sun is rising. There's always a orange-yellowish hue that is painted on the walls coming from the large window. That is the best time to take pictures, but I'm not always up for it.

(yea, i have pit hair. what's it to ya? and a happy 4/20 for those who celebrate!)

It's been really lovely in Chicago lately, not counting the past 2 days where it has rained. You can definitely tell that spring is in the air. I love this feeling. I love the feeling I get when spring approaches. There's plants and flowers and trees in bloom, and it's such a beautiful sight. It also means that summer is well on it's way, and that is what I'm looking forward to the most.

I was planning on going to school in the summer, but since I'm working a lot, and it will be summer...I think I would much prefer to start school in the fall. This is my first time living on the north side, so I will take advantage of it. The beaches, parks, close proximity to entertainment and venues...yeah, this summer will be aweeesome.

We're having a Mexican Fiesta tonight! We bought some flank steak, which is currently marinading in a pool of deliciousness, for steak tacos, and I made Spanish rice and guacamole and some black beans and vegetarian refried beans. CiCi and Luke will join our festivities with the sangria! :)

OH! and baseball season is here! Go Sox!

I had a wonderful morning. Woke up with John, the sun was shining. Gary had slept over. We drank some coffee, chatted, and smoked a cigarette. After he left, we decided to head to Whole Foods. There's about 3 or 4 Whole Foods around here, and I feel like we've been to about all of them. Every time I go in there, I simply don't recognize it at all. Then again, I guess I don't really shop at Whole Foods too much since their prices are kinda on and off. BUT they had a lot of items on sale today, and we got some great buys. Witt and I were going to start doing a weekly thing of going to Whole Foods every Sunday night, but I suppose it's quite hard to keep up with that knowing Witt harhar.

We bought items to make whole wheat banana pancakes (which I just had and are delicioussss) and John is going to make chili while I'm at work. He also bought me a beautiful bouquet of orange, yellow, and pink mini roses with little purple flowers.

I should become a florist. I absolutely adore flowers and arranging flowers...I enjoy gardening and planting. Maybe I should transfer to the floral section haha. Or maybe I should work at a local floral shop. I don't know, but either way, I think I would really enjoy doing that.

If I could afford to purchase flowers on a daily basis, I totally would.

Happy Easter!
