Not gonna lie -- I really want to sign up for hd_worldcup. There's something about a blank sign-up template that makes my fingers twitch. *restrains self*

This Oscars season has me flailing like crazy. Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Seven Pounds... FOUR OF THE BEST MOVIES I'VE EVER SEEN, and all released in one awards season. Benjamin Button is one movie everyone needs to see at one point in time. It's fantastic. My goal is to watch all the potential major Oscar nominees, so Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Frost/Nixon, Revolutionary Road (*cringe*), Changeling, and The Reader when it's released are next.

I told myself I would write SKOM today. Instead I wound up writing 6k of a WiP I started a few days ago. *facepalm* I messaged person958 about using the prompt that I bitched for weeks about not getting in hd_inspired (the Harry getting stuck in the Mirror of Erised one). I'm trying to approach this one the same way I approached P.S. I Love You, i.e. by not worrying about making it good and just writing whatever pops into my head. That way I might actually finish this fic, though the chances are very slim.

Gah. Dentist (root canal... *whimpers*) and work all day tomorrow, when I'd much rather spend the day reading more hd_hols fics. Speaking of, go read He Dreams in Monochrome! It's incredibly angsty and focuses heavily on the issue of infidelity at its ugliest. I realise it might not be for everyone, but I personally loved it, ambiguous ending and all. Once Upon A Time, Yesterday is also fantastic.

Also! I finally sent out holiday cards today, LOL. Tell me when you guys get them, k? :x

YEY FOR HOLIDAY CARDS. If you never get mine, let me know and I'll show you the picture I took of it. I kind of liked it, not gonna lie :P

I really want to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Milk. Damn living here, none of those movies have come out here yet :(

YESSSSSSSSSSSS I GOT YOURS AND IT'S FUCKING AMAZING. I explained the context in which I opened it in the card I sent to you :p Show me the picture! :D

OMG, both of those movies are amazing. Milk made me see the gay rights movement in a totally new perspective, and Sean Penn is just incredible beyond words as Milk. Benjamin Button... words can't even describe how amazing the movie is. Download Milk through a torrent -- it's not playing in any theatres near me, so I had to dl it.

I loved He Dreams in Monochrome. It was such a nice relief to read something so raw and real.

Definitely. I reread it just now, and I feel like I discovered several more layers to both Harry and Draco that I didn't notice the first time around. I've been worrying that we might be approaching H/D burnout, but this fic proves it's still possible to make me feel like I'm reading H/D for the first time.
