Sigh, no car yet. The Toyota people wanted to finance the car for a ridiculous interest rate, so screw you, Sterling McCall Toyota in Houston. You suck.

Las Vegas was lots of fun! We hardly slept the entire trip, that city sure parties on the weekends. We got to see the Cirque du Soleil "O" show, and the Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam, as well as the entire Strip and Freemont Street Experience.

Here are some photos:

Ooh, I just ordered an iPhone. Couldn't help myself, the price drop made it worth it.

Also, my little brother is going to Spain! He will be the first of our family to leave this continent, wow.

And I didn't even get a free haircut!

This morning I went to Wal-Mart to get a haircut and some groceries. The in-store salon was being manned by a single Hispanic woman. Nice enough, and the haircut went as well as could be expected considering it was a $13 cut out of some out-dated fashion book. No, when it all went pear-shaped wasn't 'til after the haircut, when I tried to pay. Seems the stylist jumped the gun a bit in processing my credit card and somehow had frozen the computer. So I waited while she tried to call several people for help, and even after CTRL+ ALT+DEL, the computer was still frozen and my credit card authorization was stuck in limbo. So the lady, who didn't speak great English, called up the PoS support number and handed me the phone!

Yup, I was translator/technical support for a frozen salon computer today. Seems like there was something plugged in erroneously at the back of the computer, and after rearranging the cords and restarting the computer, all was well. But I didn't chance it afterwards, I paid by cash. I should have demanded a freebie after all that.

The funniest part was the tech support person on the other end of the phone. I had to explain it to her that I was a random customer who was pulled in to do translator duty, and she said I was very kind to do so. But what else are you supposed to do in a situation like that? Of course it's annoying when people don't speak English well or don't know how to work a computer, but everyone needs help now and then. Sometimes the kindness of strangers is the best kind.

I went to the Driver's License Office this morning and got my permit! The experience was actually better than I expected, it only took an hour from walking in the door to leaving with my permit, but it's not something I want to repeat any time soon--though I will have to in about a month or so for the driver's test. :/

Ouch, I just fell down my stairs, like 3 steps. I'm going to have serious bruises tomorrow. :-/

Otherwise, still packing. Half of my current stuff is just clutter and crap, so I've had to sift through a lot of junk to find what to toss and what to keep. So tired.

I bought a bike!

It's pretty and girly, but not pink. I'm going to ride it around and get some exercise and hopefully it won't get stolen. :)
