Oh, good, with the human part. One of the mistakes I think is made with Sam is letting her be too perfect and have no flaws on the show, so I like that she comes to conclusions that maybe aren't the right ones, that we've seen her be adventurous and self-sufficient and fun and exciting and yet she thinks what she needs is normal and easy.
I'm not sure Sam can deal with easy, and I'm hoping now that she tried normal, knows she can do it, knows it's not what she wants, that she'll open up to the possibility of something a little different.

good point about how the appearance (or actuality) of perfection diminishes the portrayal. some vulnerability layered in with the genius makes the whole dynamic more intersting to me. and i think you're right about how the illusion of "easy" and "normal" is a powerful attractor for her...even if the reality of it might not be enough for her in the long run.
