I always love the details you pick out. The size of the map was a little bit of recognition that this time, it's not aliens who have no idea where SG-1 is coming from, but a country perfectly aware of American culture who just doesn't care that much for it. It's an interesting judgement, and a variation on being stranded, I think. RW says that sometimes the aliens on other planets are less foriegn than some of the cultures on Earth, which is an amazing thing to play with.
I'm glad the personalities showed up in contrast to one another.

thank you. and i love contemplating the way the lives they've lead have shifted their sense of 'home'. and that on some level the people they might interact with in their so called "normal lives" on earth might feel a difference about all of them. they are so very changed by being citizens of the universe.
