Posting to lj from my ipad!

Apparently theres no actual ipad app for lj, but there isan iphone one that seems to work ok.

It is a little challenging to type on the iphone style keyboard rather than the pad version so I'll be keeping brief when i post using it.

I've been reading a series of books recently by an author named Jordan Castillo Price, they're great, easy to read page turners with a gay protagonist that aren't just angsty coming out stories about whiners. I suggest if you're in the market for a decent story starring gay characters you check them out!

You can get them from amazon or from jordan's site: www.psycop.com (they're about a psychic detective... Forgot to mention that.)

Anyway, i drew jordan a pic of the two main characters which is here:

Drew it entirely on the ipad, so I'm pretty proud of the results. Not as good as i could manage with a scanner and wacom tablet and photoshop, but pretty neat considering.

Posted via LiveJournal app for iPhone.

I tend to be pretty quiet on LJ lately...

But I do feel the need to vent or generally say something every now and then:

My Grandma died today.

My Grandad died only a couple of months previously. Grandma took it pretty hard (as you do) but really seemed to recover and focus on rebuilding her life. Seems unfair that she should go so quickly after she had pulled it all together so well. Hell, she was planing on a trip overseas and even got travel insurance.

Anyway, I'm fine, but I'm pretty sure that my Mum is taking it pretty hard. It can't be easy to loose both your parents so close together and so suddenly on both fronts. I'm really worried for her.

So yeah. There's the update.

Peace.

Weird boredom.

So I'm always wishing I had time to draw or write. But I never seem to have time around work, house-work and my various other time consuming hobbies (video games, TV, Magic, etc)

At the moment I don't have any games that are actually interesting me in any significant way. So I usually have a few hours when I get home of an evening that is not really taken up like it used to be. I'm dissatisfied because I'm bored, but I'm too tired from spending the whole day at work to actually do the drawing or writing I want to do. When I try to, I get frustrated because I'm all tired and I'm shitty at concentrating.

So I'm like... Weirdly bored. Bored with plenty of time to do the things I always wish I had time to do, but no energy or concentration to do them.

D&D related arts

My brother Cam's been bugging me to play some D&D character in his little plan to do some dungeon mastering. ... That doesn't sound geeky enough when typed... let's say he wants to be a Dungeon Mathster... Yeah. That sounds about geeky enough.

Anyway, I've eventually relented and now I has made a character. He's a Deva Sorcerer.

I'm pretty happy with him..

If anyone's D&D interested I'll also add his background and story stuff.

sum ARTZ

So I drew this a little while back, but for those who've been reading the ongoing fiction this is the boys: Dylan is the snippy sniper, and Ash is the more earnest hottie. (Which isn't to say that Dylan's not a hottie, but Ashley's prettier with his silky dark hair and broody charms and so on)

More art to come later... and possibly the end of the little fiction bit.

Writer's Block: Investigations of a Female Nature

Who is your favorite lady detective from movies, books, or TV?

Mine is Mrs Bradley, from the Mrs Bradley Mysteries... She was a wealthy, learned dilettante who with her ex-army chauffeur went around solving crime in the 30s. It's a little sad though... it's kinda the end of an era... All the wealthy friends' houses are getting delapidated and they're running with reduced staff as the wealthy lordship is in decline... But it's a fun series!
