Ho, ho, ho... pimp!

LJ-surfing the other day I came across two entries by lifeinamarble which had me rolling on the floor.

One was a huuuuuge picture post full of cat macros. I thought I found macros only mildly amusing at best, but seeing so many together srsly built up the giggles. My personal favourite is the Prozacs cat.

The second was an entry with weird, cheesy and downright disturbing album covers. Be sure to read the commentary, it adds to the brilliance!

Now, a meme horked from heartofdavid:

Go to Wikipedia.
The first random Wikipedia article title that you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to The Quotations Page random quotations:
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to Flickr and click on "explore the last seven days"
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

My results:

Band name: Immortality *
Album title: I myself deny it.
Album cover: Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

* To be honest, the actual title of the article was "Immortality (Celine Dion song)", but what self-respecting band would name themselves that?

My current favourite song is Jailer by Nigerian singer Asa (or Asha). It's getting a lot of airplay on French radio, and I've steadily fallen in love with it. I found a nice live version on YouTube, check it out:

Happy holidays, everybody. :)

OMG!!! Those album covers!!! XD Made me wonder how these things ever got recorded? What record executive listened to a demo tape of any of these and thought, "Wow, now that's music! I better sign them up before someone beats me to it!"

I have an urge to listen to each and every one of them - wouldn't you love to know what they sound like? Does the music match the horror of the covers? I bet it surpasses it, lol.

I like that song, a lot. She's very charasmatic. I thought when it started, "Okay, some girlie sitting on a stool with her guitar..." but she's a riveting performer. I wouldn't mind hearing more!

Aren't they fabulous!? Yes, I would love to know what they sound like. In fact, there are actually two names I recognised among all those dark horses!

I always rather liked "Dance with me" by Orleans. Now I know what furry creatures lurk behind that name I'll have to rethink their invitation!

I'm also much more familiar with HEINO (yep, lifeinamarble's favourite cover) than I'd like. Would you believe his career spans over half a century? He was and is hugely popular in Germany and also among Dutch 'schlager' fans, with his booming voice. There are also those who like him because they consider him camp.

On his website (http://www.heino.de/, check it out for more HEINO goodness!) I read that his health is rather fragile at the moment, so that is sad. His biography states that he got the nickname Heino because his sister Hannelore couldn't pronounce his real name Heinz-Georg. I was rather eeked to learn several paragraphs later that Heino and Hannelore were married in 1979, as no mention was made of another Hannelore in the paragraphs in between. If that is the custom in their family it would explain a few things though...

You can listen to Asa's whole album on her official website: (2 minutes of every song). I have to check it out myself, as well! :)

P.S. Heino *lol*
