Learning about People
I love these questionnaires, you learn so much, find similarities, quirky things, some bizarre things too!

What caught my eye:
1. Mosquitos! God, I hate them! How could I have forgotten to put them on my list. Are you one of those who mosquitos target, ignoring everybody else around? They seem to love me, and I get bitten in weird places, eyelids, between my toes (super itchy there!), ears; makes me shudder just to think about them!
2. Origami pelican - now how cool is that!
3. Lewis Furey? I've never heard of him. So I ran to check him on Amazon.com. Now I know where you got your icon from! LOL What kind of music? Can you let me know, I'm always interested in something new and good.
4. Tarot Cards - I'm intrigued to but don't know how to use them properly. Sometimes I pull them out for a friend and we have a giggle. I just make things up!
5. Me? *blush - runs away, trips over modem cable, bashes head into grandpa's old time radio next to computer desk* Hey, a new one for my bizarre accident list! lol :) Do have grandpa's radio, big old upright with those old glass tubes, shortwave, etc. And it still works! The boomiest bass on that thing.

Re: Learning about People
1. No, but they do know how to find me when I'm alone! Bitten on the eyelids, yes, several times. My nose too. Looks very silly. What I hate most about them though is the buzzing around my ears, just when I'm drifting off to sleep. They have managed to keep me awake for whole nights. The mosquito net I bought a few years ago helps a lot though. They cannot come close enough for me to hear them, and if they do find a way in, they are an easy catch. Mosquitoes are the only creatures I will kill on purpose.
2. *blush* thank you! He is really quite cute. :)
3. I will get back to you on Lewis Furey, explaining his music takes more time than I have tonight. :)
4. For a while I used to pick a card every night, blindly, note down the associations I had, and then check it with the meaning given in a tarot book. That was fun, but it took ages to get through all the cards, because I pulled the same cards often. I gave it up at some point. Must start again
5. LOL I added your accidents posting to my memories, because it cracks me up every time I read it, and that can come in handy in times of need. :)

Re: Learning about People
The ear buzzing thing sucks. Turn on the light, they disappear. No sight or sound. Turn off the light, "ZZZZZZZZZ...."

Origami is a wonder to me. A boring flat piece of paper, a 3 dimensional work of art. All from folding. That anybody supposedly can learn (not me!). Magical.

Definitely get back to me on Furey, very curious.

Me and my accidents. I should put up another list sometime. That's how many of them there have been. But I don't consider myself accident prone, it's not like every other day I have a new bandage. Just the types of them that occur. Not a simple bruise, scratch or cut. At least not how other people normally get those things. LOL

Re: Learning about People
I love doing origami, because you have to concentrate so on properly making the figures that it clears your head of all other thoughts. Just like yoga really! :)

OK. Lewis Furey. 'New' is a relative notion here, because his 3 (solo) albums date from 1975-1979. (After that he has mainly written songs for Carole Laure and been concentrating more and more on film directing.)

You could say his voice is some sort of cross between Lou Reed and Jonathan Richman. His musical style was described in a review as "Hair meets Lou Reed meets Kurt Weill meets the Rocky Horror Show". I personally don't really see the connection with Hair, but with Lou Reed (esp. Transformer and Berlin) and the Rocky Horror Show, yes, I think I can. And there are definitely '30s Kurt Weill influences. His first album (where I got my icon from) is my favourite, I love it to bits. I think The Humours of Lewis Furey is the most 'difficult' to get into, it's less melodic than his first, although it does contain great tracks, and The Sky is Falling is a bit more 'commercial', again in a very relative way.

NO idea if you like this kind of music. If you want to learn more, here is an article in part English, part French, with a discography and the lyrics to the first 2 albums (some of them are very explicit). If you think you might like his music, let me know, and I could perhaps send you a sample.

Re: Learning about People
He sounds interesting ( I like Lou Reed, so if he sounds like him vocally, that's a good start). I read the article then did a search, found another french website, most of it under construction, but some pics and an intro with music. And he's worked with Cat Stevens, that's cool, I like him a lot. I'll take a look around, if I can't find anything I'll get back to you.
