To dream a dream is grand. To live it is divine.
Now is the time of winter, that seasonal pattern when life withdraws from the elements to spend more time in introspection. This is the time of community, of sharing and focus upon the joint effort of survival and preparation for the future. Now is the time of feasts and the rebuilding of the things that went unnoticed in spring and summer. Enervation and lethargy are common and the spirit dominates as the body moves into its phase of increased self-awareness. Every little bit counts at this time of the year and care must be taken to ensure the preservation of one's energy and resources. There is a beauty to the season, when all things withdraw and leave a silence that needs no filling. It is the time of the earth's meditation, its moment of solitude before the bustle and chaos of future seasons.
Spring will arrive in its time, giving way to physical rejuvenation and restlessness, but for now, now is the time to turn inwards. Remember that even the earth itself sleeps and rests during these months. There will be time for life soon. Now is the time of slumber.
Now is the time of dreams.
