It's not you, it's me

Since it appears that Drive has now been cancelled, I guess this is as good a time as any to post my thoughts, right?

And speaking of The Amazing Race, pidgehuss had a theory about the Pit Stop weirdness in this last episode that I think is right on the money. In case you're interested.

After I saw several positive comments about the latest GG episode I figured I might watch it and see where the show is at right now, but my attempts were thwarted, which I think I'll take as a sign that it's not meant to be.

(no subject)

Lately I feel like I'm in the twilight zone when it comes to GG and Rory's boyfriends. Back in the day, it was hard (at least on my flist) to find anyone who would even admit to liking Dean, but these days he's (apparently) the best boyfriend Rory ever had.

So satisfy my curiosity, if you've seen Gilmore Girls...

I watched Gilmore Girls before watching Supernatural and...

I love Dean!
28(15.9%)
I think he's okay.
30(17.0%)
I think he's meh.
52(29.5%)
I hate Dean.
66(37.5%)

I watched Gilmore Girls after (and because of) Supernatural and...

I love Dean!
6(10.5%)
I think he's okay.
15(26.3%)
I think he's meh.
16(28.1%)
I hate Dean.
20(35.1%)

I wish I could get super excited about something right now, but I can't and it's killing me. I want my squee back! Dammit.

ETA: The new View Answers script for polls is really NEAT. Me likey!

I spent half of my workday today translating an episode of Conan only to realize, halfway through, that it was a freakin' rerun and we probably already had a translation on file. D'oh! And then I just couldn't be bothered to do much more than recut the old file and turn it in.

I'm watching about 15 million shows right now because I can't seem to find one that will hold my attention. In the past few days I've finished season 2 of Farscape (I feel the need to take a break from the OMG!angst for a while because it only gets worse from here on out), watched about half of season 2 of OTH (out of sequence, but I'm finding myself very much not caring), seen the first five episodes of Popular (I'd totally keep watching if I had more episodes, because this show is the good kind of crack), and am about to start watching season 1 of Spaced. I hear good things, so here's hoping...

It's a joyous day for sure

I was all set to post about the Prison Break and Gilmore Girls finales when my flist exploded into a world of SQUEEEEE over the VM renewal news and I was sidetracked. Basically my reactions were, in order:

WHAT?

and

Whatever... Can it just be fall so I can see the Palladino-less episodes and see if it's even worth sticking around for the final year?

In other news, I wish there was a function to read the people who have you friended, but who you don't have friended back. Sort of like the friends friends list, only not. I feel like I'm missing out on friending back some great people, but it's too daunting to go through and click every single journal from my user info.

Using the Dick icon because, well, I can. Of course, it's only funny if you know what his t-shirts say since hardly a one is readable. Oh, and the last one, from NitW, has a picture of a rooster on it with the word "cock" underneath (found by the wonderful naty_, who also cleaned up the cap so that it would even show up. You can't tell in my caps.)

Also, I capped some X-Files (Small Potatoes, Detour and Monday) and I'm still open to suggestions.

I ordered a whole bunch of movies online today. Mostly just ones I feel nostalgic for and want to upgrade to DVD status. And yesterday I bought three movies, none of which I've seen, but they were cheap and I don't think any of them are horrible. Oh, and I just found What's Eating Gilbert Grape in a bag. I bought it weeks ago. Oops. And I also ordered the first two seasons of Northern Exposure for 17 pounds. I can hardly even remember the show, but I've been wanting to watch it again and 17 pounds! I mean, come on!

I went to a nursery and bought cuttings earlier. Two hibiscus plants, one with yellow flowers, one with red. Two bougainvillea plants, one white, one purple, and two passionflower plants, one blue and the other is white, I think. I fully expect half of them not to make it, as per usual, but it's a pretty cheap way of getting nice plants by summer.

Now I just need to buy soil so I can repot them. And dig up pots. Shouldn't be hard, I've got millions of them.

I've been toying with the idea of finishing up my TWW capping before the end of the show. It's 60 episodes, which would probably mean something like one episode a day, which is totally doable. The question is whether or not to tackle the project.

Hey, Steph, I totally forgot about the upload until I sat down to watch the episode earlier (it's been so long!). It's in the usual directory now, though. =)

Despite my assertions that I may have to download Grey's Anatomy again if my flist started squeeing in earnest, I just can't bring myself to watch Meredith. Any time I even contemplate it, my entire mind just rebels against the horribleness that is the lead character and I can't do it. Too bad, but what can you do?

I uploaded my Gilmore Girls caps and added seven episodes of Friends to the US comedy show cap directory. Unless someone requests another season 5 episode, I think that's it for my Friends capping project. The screencap post has been updated.

In conclusion, I really miss VM and TWW. *goes back to reading fic to fill the void*

I also pre-ordered the Serenity DVD today. Is it bad that I now practically feel entitled to download it? I mean, come on, I've waited years for this film and I've tried to see it, but another month and a half?! That's just not fair. There's no way I can stay unspoiled for that long, people are already getting rather lax about cut-tags.

Oh, and in case it wasn't obvious by the above paragraph, when Serenity was pulled from the international market, I'll give you three guesses which country didn't get a cinema release. And the first two don't count.
