All hail the Swedish postal service!

However, Dreamhost and their DDoS attacks are ticking me off. Because while I did get Serenity earlier today (hence kudos to the postal service), and capped it (2606 caps!) I can't upload the frelling caps because I can't access either of my sites. For the second time in two days! Fixing this any time now would be good with me.

I guess I can cap the extras while I wait. Or watch TWW season 6, because I'm halfway through and powering through seems like a good idea. I still think it's better than season 5, Collapse )

Well, looks like I have my sites back, so I'm gonna start uploading. This should be very interesting. I'll try to put up a zip before I go to bed, but I still haven't quite finished converting them all. Yeah, strike that. It appears the zip would be around half a gig, I doubt anyone would be interested.

Did you guys know that the Freeze Frame Network has expanded? Like, a lot? They have Freeze Frames for Felicity, Wonderfalls, Friends, Gilmore Girls... A lot of shows. Not much there yet, but I think they're having trouble finding cappers. Which is no wonder, 'cause I hadn't even heard about it until a few days ago.

Last night I got an e-mail. My Serenity DVD has shipped and will be here in 5-14 days! Eeee! And TWW season 6 is also on its way. What did I ever do for fun before DVDs and the Internet took over my life?

Speaking of which, I still have last night's TWW to watch. *toddles off*

My life is now complete.

I have seen Serenity!

My friend who I went with and started off on the pilot episode last weekend called me on Thursday and said she loved the show. Today she said she thought it was a better show than Farscape. Not sure I agree, but that's because we never got to see how they'd fare over the course of 80+ episodes. The first 14, though? Kick Farscape's first 14's ass!

Oh, by the way, I loved the movie! Do you guys have any links to reviews? Your own or someone else's, either is fine. I just want to read what everyone thought. =)

Jinx! Almost...

I just ordered Serenity tickets.

I was thiiiis close to giving up on the whole thing when I went to the main theater chain web site to order tickets only to find that the movie wasn't there. A few days ago? There. Today? Not so much. It had been pulled again. I even wrote up a post about how I'd jinxed it.

But then, on a whim, I went to Sandrews and found that it's playing at one theater in all of Stockholm. Joy! So I hurriedly ordered tickets and now I'm seeing the Big Damn Movie on Saturday afternoon. Finally!

In other news, I suck at replying to comments right now, but I am determined to get back on track. Too bad no one will notice if I do start replying since comment e-mail notifications seem to be sporadic at best.

And so the Wednesday night/Thursday spam fest has begun. I'll be back later with VM zipped caps. Then the torrent, then the episode review. No rest for the wicked weary.

Everybody's working for the weekend

Had poker night with some friends on Friday. We only had time for two rounds, one of which I won and the other was won by my best friend. I think the reason we won (apart from my totally kick-ass cards, which consisted of two full houses and three three of a kinds) is that we're the only ones who actually play the cards we're dealt instead of playing just because it's boring to fold. No money changed hands, unfortunately. I could use some right about now.

Lack of money didn't stop me from going to see the new Harry Potter movie on Saturday, though. No spoilers here, except to say that I felt about it the way I felt about the first two movies - basically, they're a glossy brochure for the book. The third movie actually has qualities that make it worthwhile for the non-fan, but this one? Meh. I don't regret seeing it, but I vastly prefer the book (which is my favorite, by the way).

And then yesterday I did a tiny bit of work and then I capped two more VM episodes. Only three more to go!

I think this Inara cap is the prettiest Inara cap ever. I hardly did a thing to it because I heart it so.

In related news, they apparently rescheduled Serenity and it's opening here next weekend, so I forced my best friend to watch Serenity the episode after we got back from the HP movie so she would finally watch the show and we could go see the Big Damn Movie next weekend. I don't think she was bowled over, but then again, neither was I the first time I saw the series.

I guess LJ will be kinda quiet this week, which is probably just as well considering the massive suck that's going on now.

Monday and Tuesday are busy TV nights

I also pre-ordered the Serenity DVD today. Is it bad that I now practically feel entitled to download it? I mean, come on, I've waited years for this film and I've tried to see it, but another month and a half?! That's just not fair. There's no way I can stay unspoiled for that long, people are already getting rather lax about cut-tags.

Oh, and in case it wasn't obvious by the above paragraph, when Serenity was pulled from the international market, I'll give you three guesses which country didn't get a cinema release. And the first two don't count.

Okay, so not so much with the spoilers there, don't even know why I bothered to cut it.

All this Firefly quotage on my flist reminds me: I won't be seeing it until November 11th at the earliest, so if you're on my flist and you're planning to talk about movie spoilers openly in your journal (yes, even a month and a half after the premiere) without cutting would you mind telling me so I can take you off my reading filter? And if you spoil me I'll shove you in Serenity's engine. (A vague disclaimer and all that jazz...)

Take out the trash day

The following is a bunch of stuff I keep meaning to post about but always forget.

I think Duncan is pretty. I used to think he was prettier than Logan. The problem is that that's pretty much all he is. He does nothing for me, I don't connect with him at all. And yeah, I think it's a failing of Teddy's, so sue me. If Jason can make me care about a psychotic jackass, I'd expect at least that much from Teddy who's playing an actual likeable character. But no.

However, if he had the charisma to match those looks he'd be lethal.

That said, the scruff does nothing for me. Everyone who's all "guh" about Duncan!Scruff gets a big ole WTF?! from me. I think it makes him look creepy and slimy. Now Logan!Scruff on the other hand...

I went to Sparklies and saw this icon by Regina and I had to share because it's pure genius. Collapse )

I ordered Gilmore Girls season 4 a month or so ago, not really checking out the specifics because I just assumed it would be widescreen because that's the first season I've seen with widescreen torrents. But it's fullscreen! GAH!!!! Why do they have to deprive us of all that space? Just think of all the icon crops you won't be able to do.

Tonight is the mother of all scheduling conflicts. Four episodes of Arrested Development (first four of season 2) are airing on FOX and two episodes of Veronica Mars (Pilot and An Echolls Family Christmas) are airing on CBS. I don't know which to plug. *tears hair out in frustration*

Okay, so maybe I do because I don't think anyone should start AD in the middle. Get thee to the closest place that sells DVD sets and pick up season 1 today. You won't be sorry. (I've been reading about Target having it on sale for 20 bucks!) And if you can't wait for season 2 to arrive in stores on October 11th (same day as VM season 1!) I'll totally upload the episodes for you.

So everyone watch VM on CBS tonight!
Heh, like you're going to listen to me at this point anyway.

I think I may love this icon in a manner that's not entirely healthy. Oh YoSaffBridge, will I ever see you again? (FYI, spoil me for Serenity and DIE! I won't be seeing it until November. *sob*)
