LiveJournal averts existentialist crisis - film at eleven

Oh LiveJournal, I appreciate that you're trying, really I do, but couldn't you try to do stuff that didn't seem quite so useless? Take these new contextual hover menus.

Thanks for taking the time to tell me I'm me, lord knows I go through enough existentialist crises to need it, but if you were going to have the user icon there anyway, couldn't you have made it a link to the user pictures? And the links to the Journal and Profile are all well and good, except...those links were already there, outside of the hover menu. Just click the head for the profile, the name for the Journal and Hey, Presto! It takes you there, no fuss, no muss - and most importantly: no waiting for the hover menu to pop up.

A for effort, but try to make it actually useful next time.

Is it just me or have all episodes of all shows this week been pretty meh? I know, I know, we're only just at the start of the season and it's not even sweeps, but still, you usually get only a few meh ones in a week, not every single show out there.

The Office
I've really enjoyed Jim/Karen up till now, and I still do, just not here. It seemed too forced and a bit awkward and too much, too fast. I don't know, it just didn't work for me.

Loved Pam and her bird coffin and the eulogy.

The delivery and timing of

"Look, I gave him a six foot extension cord so he can't chase us."
"That's perfect."

may just be the best ever.

Supernatural
I found myself doing other things, like reading fic, while I watched the episode. The show just doesn't hold my interest on a weekly basis. I think I'll probably try to marathon them instead, or possibly read flist reactions and only watch the episodes that I think will hold my attention.

Ugly Betty
This is the only show of the three I watched today that I found myself actively enjoying. I'm thinking a lot of it has to do with the sets and the cinematography and the fact that I'm completely shallow, AND I'M OKAY WITH THAT.

Project Runway
So, I saw the pictures from the collections when they first came out, and I have to say, I'm so disappointed in Michael's collection. In the final aufing (that wasn't an aufing after all), the judges mentioned in their talks that Michael doesn't seem to know where his strengths lie, but I don't think Michael really heard them, because I think he's got this idea in his head of what it is he's good at and he's just not been able to steer his mind in another direction.

And so, in the final runway show we finally get to see why Tim was so hesitant to let Michael in. It's...gaudy. Which is not something that I ever thought I'd say about Michael's clothes. He keeps talking about sexy and hot, but all I see is tacky. Maybe the clothes will look better on the runway. I'm hoping so, because I think Michael was far and away the best contestant on the show.

I certainly hope Jeffrey didn't cheat. I think he can be an ass and I don't like him very much, but not because I think he's dishonest. If anything, I think he can be too honest at times. That said, I didn't care much for his collection, it's not my style and I thought there were a few fun pieces, but nothing really great. And I'm pretty sure I'm not letting my opinion of the person color my judgment here, because I hated Santino much more last year, but I still liked his collection the best.

Uli's collection was an Uli collection, that's for sure. I enjoyed some things, and I think a lot of the stuff will look better in action, but in the end it wasn't for me.

I'm rooting for Laura to win. I think her collection was very her, it was the most even collection out of the four, and I just like her and her style.

I just hope the torrent doesn't take forever to show up next week, like it did this week, because I doubt I can go an entire day and evening without being spoiled.
