Almost finished ‘Underwater Light’ and had to write some stuff down.
I love Lupin for being such a peacemaker. I love that he keeps Sirius from ripping Snape’s head of, and that even Snape cannot be completely evil to him. I love that it’s him who is in charge of the Young Order.
I love Draco, Pansy, and hell, even that fucking Blaise Zabani who is such an arse I want to throttle him. I love the way that Maya has portrayed the Slytherins: as if they are real people, just like Harry and his house. I love that they Slytherins aren’t seen as completely evil and vile.
And I love how much they love Snape. I think that’s one of my favourite things about this fic. The way that Snape is such an important part of their lives. That they care about him so much and worry so much when he’s not there. When he’s in danger they feel real panic. And when he comes back they feel real joy.
I love Harry’s confusion over what he feels for Draco. And the pain he feels in the absolute knowledge that Draco is never going to feel the same way about him. Although, I’m still unsure about what Draco will ultimately decide. I keep thinking they’ll get together and then I think they won’t.
And I was so impressed how the death of…that person… was handled. (No Spoilers!) I didn’t see it coming and I literally gasped when it happened. What a blow.
And I’m glad that the houses are coming together. Well, at least the members of the Young Order are. And I love knowing that one of them is a spy yet no being sure of who it is.
And every time Draco and Hermione have a scene together I can’t help thinking of them together! Even though this is Draco/Harry.
Okay, back to reading. Only a few chapters left.
Maya hasn't finished Underwater Light!!! It ends with this:
"Nah, I'll go with them," Harry said. "Have fun." He paused. "We're okay? Really?"
Draco reached out, then caught himself, laughed and let his hand fall. The lights of the inn outlined his hair and blurred his face.
"Yes," Draco said, his voice sure. Then he said, "Goodnight, Harry," and shut the door.
Harry stayed outside for a moment, ignoring Parvati and Lavender's call for him to follow. It was just - Draco's wide, almost savagely distrustful gaze, and the stupid malicious little song he'd made up, and the malice hadn't changed, he knew that much. It was something about the feel of him, and being able to scream out bleak things in the night wind.
No matter how stupid it was, he was certain.
I want that.
Also, nocturne_alley is INSANE!!! Somthing completly drastic is going on there! Lupin has resigned and... Yes. I am aware that I'm getting very worked up over somthing that 'techinally' isn't real. I DON'T CARE! There is BADNESS!!!!!!!!!
