An Epiphany A Minute

I am a red-haired, blue eyed girl in San Francisco. I'm a freelance writer and editor, focusing on sexual health, mental health, body image and weight issues. I'm trying to find time to write fiction and have a life on top of it. I live in a house with my 69-year-old landlady and her three neurotic little yippy dogs. And after years of flailing, I'm getting my shit together.

And now two quotes I would apply not just to writing but life in general:

Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way. --E.L. Doctorow

Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life, and it is the main obstacle between you and a shitty first draft. -- Anne Lamott

Having said that, most of this journal is not about lofty goals. It's about my daily life (duh), my girlfriend, MUNI, my garden, my ever-changing plans, my friends, my food, my relationships and my fears. It's a good time.
