There something about....

Who would have thought I would be updating this again "so quickly"? -laughs- Be proud of me.

Well, I hoped you watched SNL last night because I was on it. -grins- I was the musical guest. I had the priviledge of performing "Invisible" and "The Way". Also, I was forunate enough to be a one of the skip as my alter ego "Trey Aiken". -laughs- It was fun to do. It kinda reminded me of myself before the make over, but "Trey" has a short carrot top fro. -shrugs- Who would have thought? I was hoping to be able to be in a parody of "American Idol" and make fun pretend to be Ryan Seacrest, but that didn't happen. Oh well. It would have been funny, but it just didn't work out for me.

I was really amused with the SNL promo commerical that Megan Mullury and I did during the week. It was just this -laughs- way of making fun of the Super Bowl incident. It was really fun. I was somewhat apprehensive about it, but it worked out. I was laughing so hard during the first couple of takes of it because Megan kept going improvising it. I swear, she is such a great actress and a funny comedian. It was great.

Yesterday, I had planned to flew back from NYC to LA, but I had forgotten about the appearance that I had to make on Regis and Kelly. -sighs- I had planned to make it back in time to see Kim on Ryan's show, but of course. It seems that when I try to plan things, it always manages to somehow fall through. -frowns- Kim is going to be making an appearance as the guest corrsendent on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" today. I am excited for her. -smiles- There always seems to be at least one person who asks me about Kim when I have to make a live appearance somewhere. Now she can answer all of the questions herself. -grins-

Thanks for finally having her on, Ryan. It took you long enough considering you have had me, Kelly, Ruben, Justin, Locke, and Ryan along with Paula and Randy. -chuckles- One of these days RJ needs to make an appearance on your show too.

Also, Ryan needs to make up his mind. -laughs- I am suppose to be making an appearance on his show, but apparently, they can't make up their mind of which day they want me to appear. It will either be close to the end of this week or the beginning of next. I do have that tour to start close to the end of the month, just make sure it is before the 24th.

I myself, didn't get a chance to make it to the Grammys. I had a conflict in my schedule with SNL and everything. I wasn't actuallly nominated for one like Ruben was. I am happy for him. Of course Ruben's CD and mine didn't make the deadline to qualify for the Grammys nominations, but there is always next year. -nods- We'll just have to wait and see.

Well, the other day with Kim was awesome. It has been such a long time since I have actually had time to just sit around and hang with one of my best friends. It was very refreshing to just be able to sit around and do nothing that has to do with me focusing on work. It was wonderful. -smiles- Thanks to Kim for keeping me company. She is just such a sweetie and I love her for it.

At the end of last week, we filmed the video for my next single, "The Way". It is going to be coming out in early to mid Feburary. So, it should be premiering on TRL soon.

This past weekend I was in TX, not there for the Super Bowl, but for a charity event called "Best Buddies" which was a benefit to raise money for children with intellectual handicaps. I am all about helping out and raising money to help raise awareness about children with handicaps and disabilities. People need to understand disabilities instead of just ignoring them. I wouldn't have founded the Bubel-Aiken Foundation if I didn't care so much about the cause.

I did manage to make a quick stop to visit Kim in Katy before flying up here to New York. I know I totally caught her off guard, but it was good to see her be happy with her family and some friends.

I am in NYC for rehearsals of SNL. I am the musical guest and I think they may try to fit me into a skit, which to me is kinda interesting, but in a way scares me. -laughs- I am not exactly sure how to look at it.

The rehearsals for the tour with Kelly are going well. There isn't much to rehearse since I so DO NOT dance. -laughs- Don't even try to talk me into it. I won't even attempt to. We are trying to smooth out the small details now. She and I have been working hard to make sure the show wull run smoothly. We should have everything together for the "Independent" tour.

That is about it. I need to get to bed. Long day ahead of me.

I am SO sorry y'all for updating this thing. I am such a slacker when it comes to this. -laughs- Someone needs to leave me a comment or call my cell or something. I am so going to try to update this journal more often. I know I haven't updated this this in what? Over a month....Uh, sorry about that, but I am working on it.

What have I been doing for the past month? I have been so busy and things have been so hectic up until the holidays where I was in Raleigh for while and got to spend time with my family and friends which I haven't done for about a year. -laughs lightly-

Where shall I begin? What have I been up to? Well, it has been a lot. I did perform at a lot of those before Christmas concerts around the U.S. before Christmas and the holidays. Those were fun. I am just glad I am not sick anymore like I was then. -laughs- It really isn't fun to perform while you are sick with something close to the flu with a touch of pink eye. -sighs- Just let me say that December wasn't the best month for Clay Aiken in 2003. -laughs-

I got to finally graduate from UNC Charlotte on December 20th. I am just so thankful that I actually got to graduate with my peers instead of just getting my degree in the mail like they were thinking about doing and all. -smiles-

So, here I am in the new year as Kelly and I have made plans to do a co-headliner tour for a few weeks in February, March, and April.

Yeah, I was Ryan's show earlier today. It was great to see him again. I haven't been keeping in touch with him much. I haven't been keeping in touch with much of anyone and I am SO sorry for that.

All I have to say is, Ryan, you took my look, my stylist, one of my fashion people and now start to wear the same clothes as me. Stop copying me! -laughs-

If you guys need me, I am on tonight. I am actually thinking about changing my screen name and I will let you know when I do.

The Billboard Awards were great last night. I had so much fun even though I am still sick. -sighs- I am just glad I made it through last night. Could you tell I am sick? Do I sound as bad as I think I did?

My mom flew in from Raleigh, NC to be with me here ie Las Vegas. -smiles- She just wanted to check up on me and see how I am doing. I love my mom and I am glad she did. I think I have been so busy lately that I forgot to take care of myself. -nods- My momma came out here to keep an eye on me and take care of me. I am so thankful for her and all she has done.

Wow...I didn't expect to win another award. -shrugs- It was for best selling single of the year. I wasn't expecting it. I am just thankful that all of the fans are willing to go out and buy singles and albums to support me. I know this sounds like a broken record, but it really does mean a lot to me. If it weren't for the fans, I wouldn't be where I am.

Today, I actually have a day off...well, sort of. I have to fly out to Indianapolis, IN later on today. I am going to be performing at the RADIO NOW 93.1 Santa Slam there. Also, Ruben and Kim Locke are going to be there. -grins- I can't wait.

Ok, I need to go. I have some work I need to do before heading out of here.

Well, my birthday was November 30th and it was awesome. One of the best I have ever had. It was so great to be able to spend it with my friends from American Idol and everything. -smiles- Thanks again, Kim. You are such a doll.

This is the worse possible time to be sick. I think I got sick from Kim finally. -sighs- Yeah, I have bronctitis. I was in bed all day Friday. I guess, with me going non-stop during the past year has finally caught up with me. I feel a little better than what I did on Friday and all. Just trying to "take it easy" and take my medication and everything to keep up my strength. I guess, this is a true test to see if I can handle being professional. -shrugs- Suck it up, be miserable, and get through it all as I go out there and smile and get the job done or however you would put it. -laughs-

I was in Florida yesterday at Walt Disney World to tape my segment for the Very Merry Christmas Parade. So, if I sound horrible when you see it, it is because I am sick and I can't help that. -frowns- I am so sick to the point where I can't put my contacts in so I had to get a new pair of glasses with those thick lenses y'all saw me with at my audition. -chuckles- It feels kinda weird to have something on my face like my glasses concerning that I haven't worn them for basically a year. -laughs a little-

After that I had to fly all the way back up here to Tacoma, Washington for their Jingle Ball Bash, which is later on today. I hope I can get through this. With these time zone changes and everything, it is going to take its toll.

When today is said and done, I am going to be flying to Las Vegas to start rehearsals for the Billboard Music Awards, which is on Wednesday. -sighs- I am performing and it should be a lot of fun.

Ok, this is enough for me. I need to get some rest before later on. Just bare with me, guys. I have been sick and that is why I haven't been around as much. Please accept my apologizes. If I haven't been out performing and making appearances, I have mostly been in bed.

Will this madness ever end? -laughs- I guess not.

I was in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and had a blast. It was so much fun to be able to experience that here in New York. My family always watches the Thanksgiving Day Parade, but who would have thought a year ago I would be in it? -laughs-

Kim did the sweetest thing for me for Thanksgiving. Since I was in the parade this morning, I just went ahead and celebrated Thanksgiving with my family in Raleigh during the past weekend. I thought I was going to spend Thanksgiving by myself this year.

Well, I did to go bed early last night 'cause I had to be get up early in the morning to do the parade and who would have thought when I woke up this morning that I would see Rickey, both Kims, Treynce, and Carmen all in my room? -laughs- They all have crashed in various places in my hotel suite. It was a huge surprise to see everyone everyone again.

I haven't seen most of them since the tour ended in August. It was like an American Idol 2 reunion, I guess you could say. -laughs- Thank you so much, Kim, for making my Thanksgiving better than what I thought it would be!

I have so many things to be thankful for that I have happened to me in the past year. I didn't plan on having a singing career like I do now, but it is just something that is in God's plan for me. I am very thankful to my Lord and Savior for blessing me with all the great thing I have in my life. I am thankful for my mom and the rest of my family for being so supportive of what I am doing. All they have done has loved me and supported through everything.

Also, I am thankful for all the friends I have made and the people that I have met along this journey. Thanks to all of you for giving a dorky guy from North Carolina like me a chance to sing and be a part of your lives.

There is just so much I could say and I could go on for days about it, but I think you all get what I am trying to say. -laughs- Thank you all for everything you have done for me. It means a lot that you care enough to just say hey and your kind words.

Yeah, I have been so busy lately. With the AMAs and everything, I stil can't believe that I won the Fan's Choice. Wow, the fans helped me win over people like Matchbox 20 and Justin Timberlake. Who would have thought that would have happened? I am just the guy who is used to coming in second place. -shrugs- Well, thank you for voting if you did.

After I spend the weekend here in Raleigh, I am flying to NYC. I have to do some more promo. David Lettermen and the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade among other things so I am never going to take a break. -laughs- I have been busy with taping so many different holiday special lately.

I haven't been able be home or around much lately and I want to apologize for that. I haven't been able to be home or be on line because I am so tired by the time I get home or some time to myself I am out like a light. -laughs- Sorry about that.

I am working on getting some time off soon. I'l try to be on line more.

It has only been a week and Caldwell freaks when I don't get this journal updated. -laughs- The girl has no patience. I'll update when I get a chance. I just flew into Las Vegas this morning for the Radio Music Awards.

-sighs- A man's work is never done. -laughs- Yeah, I am making an appearance on the RMAs tomorrow night. Keep an eye out for me if you want to. I have been so busy with rehearsals and everything. -takes a deep breath-

I have been so busy lately. Sorry about slacking when it comes to updates, but after the World Series, I had to fly back to LA for a couple of days before flying back to New York to make an appearance on Good Morning America after my numbers came in on Wednesday. Diane is such a good friend of mine so I thought it would only be appropriate to be there. -smiles-

I can't believe my numbers. I sold....well, I didn't do anything. My album sold over 613,000 copies in the first week. Thanks to everyone who brought a copy. -smiles- It means a lot to think that you appreciate my work enough to buy it.

Also, I am going to be on Ryan's radio show in the coming week but I am not sure when. Ryan, I need to know so I can make sure I can be there. -laughs- Seacrest is such a slacker.

I just want apologize to Laura about ruining her weekend. I know she had some plans this weekend and she had to cancel them for me. My PR director had a death in her family so Simon had to call Laura to take care of my PR for the RMAs. I hope she isn't too upset with me. I owe you one, Laura.

Uh, is there anything else I need to update you guys on? I am so tired right now. I can't, but if I do, I will update you guys on it.
